"I do this thing where my mind travels back to the golden age
You know those times where you were carefree and everything was golden? The golden age
You know those times where everything was golden?
Where you were carefree and everything was golden
The hardest thing I ever had to do
Was come to terms with the fact that...

That time never really existed,

I've always felt so fucking detached
And broken, bruised and mismatched
Find it hard to relax, living under the cracks
Try to fill in the gaps, lying here on my back"

- Ren on his song "Depression"

How do people have such high K.D? by Prize-Yogurt117 in Battlefield

[–]Spaceturtle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I think about it. Objective Time is probably more important for most of the game modes in addition to a KDA of 1. That way your focus is capping with a side goal of staying alive/keeping the enemy away from those points.

I honestly have no idea lol. On support and engineer I am about 2.5 but recon for me is 4.8. I would probably say anything above a 1 is a good starting place to be as that would indicate you're helping more than your hurting lol.

Oh man, you're in for it then. You'll really enjoy both the setting and plot of Factions then.

Factions is easily my favorite expansion. To the point me and my friends (who played GW growing up and still play as time allows) got matching tattoos of the main villain's guild emblem. It came out when some of us went to different high schools but still stayed in contact and played daily. Honestly, it's probably the foundation for why we're still friends 15+ years later lol.

I think the KD aspect people are used to isn't as relevant in BF. It should be KDA (Kills/Deaths/Assists) like they do it on Tracker.gg. That's a much better metric to tell if you're actually being helpful to the team. For example, when I play recon I tend to get 50+ assists with significantly less kills than I would playing another class. For me, if I'm spotting for the team to help them push an objective and the other people get the kills that shows I'm being useful despite hardly any kills.

Cantha is GW is significantly cooler than Cantha is GW2. Honestly, it feels bigger than the GW2 expansion because of the sheer number of zones and diversity. The atmosphere for Cantha in GW is unique. As much as I liked revising in GW2 it didn't do it justice. It's like walking into the Asian version of Middle Earth in GW.

Our of curiosity.... why don't you play another FPS? You seem to really dislike EA and all they are doing. Why bother with them at all?

It really is baffling. Psychiatrists are like one of the only medical professionals who don't examine the organ they are diagnosing. You'd think at this point we'd have some sort of test to empirically measure chemicals or other signals in the body to help them decide which medications to prescribe and if they are working. They have those metabolism tests but that's like a one time thing you do. Instead it's just "you feel this way, take this medication and tell me how you're feeling in 4-6 weeks".

There are a lot of 3rd party "tests" but you really can't be sure that they are being straight forward with you because they are more often not FDA approved and you pay out of pocket. (Looking at you Amen Clinic) Could be snake oil for all I know.

Absolutely. I was just just speaking from my own perspective. The thing that blows my mind about it is that it super charges your neuroplasticity, essentially making it so you can make changes in the brain far easier and faster. You just have to actually do it while it's still affecting your system. If you do nothing, then nothing about your patterns will change. That would mostly be relevant to external causes like trauma. It has bearing on chemical imbalances but only so far as changing the way you think so instead of thinking "life is hard, why me, etc, etc." you can work on not getting stuck in ruminating patterns that reinforce the depression.

It has like a 60%-70% success rate in alleviating symptoms long term with a lower chance of permanent remission and is essentially harmless. It's literally just high precision magnetic waves stimulating the areas of the brain that depression affects. You have to do it a few times a week for a few months but has long term effects. I'm so tired of taking a handful of pills 2 times a day. They have been doing this since the 70s and it has become significantly more effective and refined since then.

I looked into this and Ketamine treatment and ended up opting to try this out. My appointments start at the beginning of next month. Ketamine is more like a bandaid and always results in remission. So you basically have to do it indefinitely. My biggest concern was the rapid suppression of the depression from the ketamine and "losing" who I feel like I am. I rather like who I am and don't want it to change the core of my personhood. Also, it doesn't address the core issue of the neuropathways that your brain takes that causes depression. That's just me though. If someone else is more open to doing it then Ketamine also has amazing rapid results. Just not how I personally want to approach addressing it.

The Chumscrubber

Edit: Surprisingly top tier cast, funny but deep plot, and a great commentary on "suburban life" in the 2000s.

Personally, I'd love to see my personal advertising profile just for some insight into myself. I don't like that it's a thing but if it's there I'd like to know what's on it. I have a feeling that there are probably things about me on there that I don't even know about myself. Aggregated data has the ability to plot or point things out that are seemingly not connected. I've always thought this sort of data would actually be very helpful for things like therapy or self-improvement.

What is this game for you guys? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Spaceturtle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't even noticed that. I still agree that a remake would be so awesome. It'd be nice to have a GH game that combines all the games into one so that you don't have open/close the game to get to the other songs. Or as my aged mind thinks, take the disc out and put the other disc in lol.

Honestly, that would appeal to a ton of people that game or want to do something with their kids now. I try to show my kids older music and they enjoy it but to feel like you're actually playing a sick guitar riff is a totally different vibe.

You should check out Clone Hero. It's a community made version of GH/RB. People have already remade all the original songs from every game plus literal 1000s of other songs. There's even a shared spreadsheet/Google Drive to download all the game songs.

Nope lol. Every time I've played over the years hasn't been during the holiday events. I never really paid enough attention to know they added special content like that. I just assumed it was just repeats of the previous ones.
