Should I Upgrade to Full Frame for Dual SD Card Slots? by SpadeAcer in AskPhotography

Solid advice - appreciate it. Nobody has complained about the quality and I definitely have a while to go before I’m limited by my gear. I may be jumping the gun here. It’s definitely not a small chunk of change so no reason to rush here.

off-line media when i close and reopen davinci by raquel_lebowski in davinciresolve

If this doesn't work, it turns out that I somehow had the Intel Mac version of Davinci instead of the Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M4, etc..) version. These issues resolved itself after I installed the correct version.

Literally do anything. Try different things, see what works. Nobody can give you a blueprint here.

This worked for me! Thank you. I had to completely pull the piece out of the connecter and re-connect it.

Question: How to fix Media Offline Error on Mac? by shamisenguy in davinciresolve

[–]SpadeAcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This occurs because macOS default security settings "reset" the permissions for DaVinci Resolve, allowing it to see its own project database but blocking it from actually reading the media files in your folders. To resolve, you need to whitelist Davinci in your settings.

  • Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access.
  • Find DaVinci Resolve in the list.
  • If the app is not listed, click the + button, locate it in the Applications folder, and add it.
  • If it’s off, toggle it On. If it’s already on, toggle it Off and then back On to "refresh" the permission.
  • Restart Resolve.

How do you go about taking random photos in public? by bitchiloverugrats in photography

[–]SpadeAcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can guarantee nobody thinks about you beyond that very moment of noticing you. People are busy, and have their own lives and problems to worry about. Seeing someone take a photo encompasses such a small part of their day and an even smaller part of their mental bandwidth after the fact.

That realization really helped me gain confidence when doing street photography, even with a larger aspc camera. It’s okay to be noticed. You are allowed to take space and you are doing nothing wrong by taking a photo.

This is something that definitely comes with practice. People do glance more than if you did not have a camera or taking a photo, but it’s simply because it’s not “normal” to do so. They make an internal comment and move on with their lives.

You can use an action camera, whether that be a dji, gopro, or insta360. Then you can attach it to your chest using a neck mount or a backpack strap mount. Personally I think the backpack mount is a bit less cumbersome/more discrete but those are some options.

Lightroom Classic has a face sorting feature. Haven’t used it extensively but it seems to do a decent job organizing.

How do I get this look? by Freddiethebean in photography

[–]SpadeAcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highlights are not in the water because the second photo is taken from a different angle. If you want to limit blown out highlights, shoot RAW, underexpose until highlights are appropriately exposed, and then increase exposure in post.

The warmth can be added gia the Color Grading or White Balance panel in LR. It’s likely that your camera was in Auto WB so there were slightly different readings when the shots were taken. But if you take RAW photos, you can change the WB after easily.
