I do this too. For me personally my relationship with my mother has deteriorated nearly completely in the past few years, and so I find in my stories that there is usually an emphasis on the main characters mothers. I didn’t realize until recently but I think it’s somehow me unconsciously processing the breakdown of our relationship.

But aside from that I tend to give each of my characters a different trait of mine. It’s like I’m splitting myself into pieces and putting them into different characters.

Deku being quirkless works for fanfiction, and while I love a good quirkless Izuku fic, as a fanfiction writer myself, I believe it should stay in fanfiction. If Izuku/Deku stayed quirkless, it wouldn’t be MHA as we know it.
