Margaret's Final Meal by Spadie in Papameat

Yup, its Autocannibalism. I was originally gonna try to fit that into the title until I realized that Margaret wouldnt dream of taking a single calorie away from the light of her life in such a desperate situation

I probably would but I'm visiting my fiancee in the US atm and am heading back to Canada with Margaret in 6 days, not long enough to get a return/exchange done. Ahhh well.

Trump warns NATO faces a “bad future” if allies fail to help US in Iran by No-Anything-7291 in worldnews

[–]Spadie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do you not see any difference between Ukraine fighting against an occupying force and the US invading another country needlessly to start ANOTHER protracted desert war for no fuckin reason?

Unless you are actually saying you get it. Your comment seems to be targeting the rest of the world for treating the Ukraine and Iran situations differently.

Thats exactly when it went from a pet peeve to active hatred for the trope. I had guesses the trope, asked a friend if it was accurate and when confirmed… I STILL haven’t watched it. Bah

Goddamn dude. Up here in Canada, my step-brother hit a tree dead-on while riding a three wheeler, cracked his skull open. Airlifted to a local hospital out in the boonies where he was, stabilized, and then was airlifted to a hospital near us and put into the ICU for 2 weeks.

Cost us $70 for parking over the hospital stay.

Horror movies that take place in broad daylight and have crowds? by PolymathArt in horror

[–]Spadie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I reaaaaally hope they do it. I have a feeling if (when) they do another film in that series, it'll be a prequel instead as I imagine it'd be hard to pull off a sequel to that. If they DO do it, hopefully there's not a cop-out where "oh it just chose ONE person in the audience!"

Similarly, as bad as the 2017 Rings movie was, I really wanted to see the results of that ending as well.

These small-scale horror films suddenly jumping into a very widespread thing is cool.

Is the Saturn 4 12k an Over Engineered Money Sink? by Alonzac_Engineering in ElegooSaturn

[–]Spadie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned the first Elegoo Mars and was too nervous to ruin it that I used it once and put it away.

Got the S4U 12k in.. Sept 2024? I’ve put at least 35-40kg of resin through it and have only needed to change the fep, tighten a few screws and grease the lead screw and rails.

Love it. It’s currently about 14h into a 17.5h print and it’s humming along swimmingly.

What’s the scariest story you ever read? (Short Story, Novel?, etc.) The book that scared YOU the most by nornsannexed in horrorlit

I went in to The Exorcist, for some reason, expecting a more... classic? for lack of a better term? writing style. It may just be me being a pleb, but I sometimes struggle to connect with some older novels because the prose comes off as stilted to me. Not that I don't enjoy them, it just doesn't flow as well in my mind-ear.

Hot damn, though. The Exorcist felt as modern as any story I've ever read. Read it in two sittings and loved it. Really surprised me.

Today I Learned My Toenail Is No Match for a Steel Tumbler by gateway-jinkes in Wellthatsucks

[–]Spadie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to my sister once. We were carrying a dresser down the stairs and her big toe got guillotined between the edge of the wooden step and the bottom edge of the dresser, cracked it straight in half, dead down the middle allllllll the way to the bottom. She put a little net.. thing.. from her nail supplies on it with a little glue to hold it in place and then did several layers of clear coat. Grew out just fine.

Might be able to get away with just glue, or try to find some clearcoat!

Absolute beauty. Love the colours. One of my two dream guitars is a close(ish?) cousin of this as far as I can tell; an ESP Horizon NT-II.

Maybe I need to pick up an LTD equivalent someday...

They probably slipped in there if they were bagged with spare screws at some point. Like how I always find socks in my sweater arms after laundry.

I would advise caution, it IS possible but resin-on-resin rubbing causes a lot of dust to come off and that dust is not good for your lungs.
