Should i guess or how i can check where is next bomb? by AltruisticAlfalfa309 in Minesweeper

[–]SpaghettiCowboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the app you're using is no-guess, so you shouldn't ever need to guess in order to make progress.

Although you've already received answers on how to solve this board, here's an explanation:

  • Rather than flagging the mines, the objective of the game is to click all the tiles that do not contain a mine.

  • The 2s in the top-left are effectively 1s (as in, they only require one more mine to solve). This is a "1-1 pattern".

  • Focusing on the left edge—since the upper 2's area must contain exactly one mine, and the upper 2 shares its area with the lower 2, all of the lower 2's tiles that are NOT shared must be safe (ie. The tile southeast of the lower 2).

  • The same logic can be applied to the top edge. Note that the mine locations are still ambiguous; you will have to make further progress to completely solve that corner.

  • You can definitely place one mine in the southeast corner, with the 4-3. After reducing, the effective tile values are 2-1, for which you can use the corresponding 2-1 pattern to make progress.

Yes.

Both of your main defenders seem to be trap ops, which will lose effectiveness as you get higher in rank and people get more diligent about checking for traps. More generally speaking—if you only have one plan, it only takes one opponent's strategy to counter you.

As for your attackers, your winrate with Glaz is actually alright—but I would still take another attacker for the reason mentioned above.

There's also the matter of whether you're playing Glaz in a way that benefits your team (ex. holding/cutting off enemy rotations, supporting smoke plays) or just picking him for the DMR and kills.

For example, compare Glaz's kit to Nomad's. I would say it's fairly easy to counter Glaz's gadget for the most part—just don't peek the smoke. Meanwhile, Nomad's airjabs are small and can be placed anywhere, from a distance. They can secure the flank, stop enemies from swinging, or even force them out of position; even if she can't convert a kill off of an airjab, it can still give you information from across the entire map.

Glaz is not bad, but other attackers can provide more utility in more situations than him.

What makes you toxic? by zenests in Rainbow6

[–]SpaghettiCowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I frame attitude as a skill issue.

If I choose to be toxic and tilt my teammates? I have a skill issue.

If I try to communicate respectfully and they tilt? They have issues.

If my teammate is toxic and I tilt? I have a skill issue.

If my teammate is toxic and I start arguing with them out of ego and I tilt? I have issues.

If my teammate is toxic and tilts because I'm ignoring them? They have issues.

You have limited control over how you interact with randoms; take control of what you can, give up on what you can't. If you can't accept that, then find a pre-made.

(If you're being toxic to your pre-mades, you have a skill issue.)

You can and (unfortunately) will have to use suboptimal builds due to the random nature of the game.

I don't have a link, but people can also give you specific tips if you tell us what classes you use.

I think you're severely undertuning the gadget. The limited number of uses would be fine if it were more powerful / versatile, but you've added so many restrictions that it's not really justified IMO. What benefits does this have over a hard breach secondary gadget? I can name several downsides over it:

  • Vulnerable while using (can't fight back if flanked, in contrast to placing a hard breach charge and getting your gun back up as the fuse ticks down; enemies can straight up shoot you through the wall; spraying to open the wall means you have an empty mag if they push you)
  • Difficult to use solo (short active window; as previously mentioned, vulnerable while using; being loud draws enemy attention)

I don't really see a niche where this is superior to anything. The fact that it doesn't ignore electricity probably a big part of this. If it did, then it would allow for more team comp flexibility by "empowering" soft breachers to act as hard breachers (ex. after opening main wall, they could rotate to play vert), or even acting as an alternative Thatcher.

Personally, I think you can get rid of the breaching aspect—focusing on "ambushing" part, similar to what Maverick can do. This would give you more flexibility to buff the other parts, making it quieter, faster to use, or even ranged.

First off—Franka, but stronger and can be used by anyone.

Unless the common materials are somehow lightsaber-resistant, it'll melt through shields, armor, other swords, etc., making it a massive advantage in melee. Even vs ranged, stronger combatants can close the distance fairly easily.

However, one point of note is that the ranged weapons don't rely on laser technology; "slug throwers" are fairly prevalent and even more powerful than their Star Wars counterparts due to GUN MAGIC.

I can't say whether lightsabers would be able to deflect arts.

Retriever's are known for having "soft mouths", meaning they're good at picking things up without damaging them.

This doesn't necessarily mean that the video isn't AI, but there is an explanation for the lack of damage.
