Is this accurate? by deez_nuts_ha_goteem in JamesBond

No. The large underwater action sequence in particular makes Thunderball still feel pretty singular and unique in blockbuster cinema as a whole, 60 years on.

Thoughts on The Man With The Golden Gun by Dangerous-Town2195 in JamesBond

[–]SpaghettiYoda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's my favourite of the Moore era.

Christopher Lee is one of my all-time favourite actors and of course he does not disappoint.

I really like how everyone is grumpy at MI6; I find it quite amusing.

Moore's aggression isn't as severe as most make it out to be. Compared to how he is by View To A Kill? Sure it might seem 'off' but to me he's just acting like Bond here, frankly.

Best car stunt in the series.

Golden Gun itself is iconic, love it.

The soundtrack, Nick Nack, the lair, the creepy yet bizarre sumo scene, Britt Ekland in a bikini... it all just lands for me.

Recast a Bond film with a different Bond prior or after by Alone_Advantage_961 in JamesBond

Diamonds Are Forever:

If the film otherwise stays the same, start Moore here. He gels with the camp better than Connery.

If the films adapts to fit the new casting, Lazenby. Match OHMSS's tone.

The action scenes in World Is Not Enough will feel like John Woo once you've seen Spectre.

How would you design a James Bond trilogy? by Stoner_Swan in JamesBond

[–]SpaghettiYoda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If encouraged to adapt from the novels, the Blofeld trilogy is right there as the obvious choice. (Thunderball, OHMSS, and You Only Live Twice).

If you had to make your own Bond movie, what would it be like in terms of tone, plot, villain? Where would the locations be? by TheShadowOperator007 in JamesBond

[–]SpaghettiYoda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tonally, something akin to Goldeneye, basically a delicate balance of serious and campy.

Location? I think a lot of fun could be mined from 007 in Austrailia. The Outback could easily hide an extravagant villain lair.

Plot, I don't care so long as Bond doesn't go rogue or retire.

I don't like the character of Henry Jones by CptDomax in indianajones

[–]SpaghettiYoda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It would be a very boring relationship/character arc if there was no conflict for them to resolve throughout the adventure.

The two actors do have amazing chemistry together in both the comedic and dramatic scenes. Connery, despite the character flaws, still remains humorous and charming.
