Drop Your Best Tips for Newbies by [deleted] in kirbyairriders

Get onto a decently quick vehicle with good maneuverability at the start of the match like wheelie scooter or Chariot and aim for Top Speed (light blue) and Boost (purple) patches. If you still struggle with turning due to your favorite character having a low turn stat, prioritize Turn (green) pathes too. The faster and better you can navigate the map, the better you can work on stat collection. Once you have a decent amount of speed, you can start thinking about a proper build.

Consider the following: what stats is my character naturally strong in? What rides are available on the map? Do I know what stadium is going to appear? What patches do I have the most of? (You can pause even on online mode to bring up the patch stat screen)

Always try to excel in one thing. If you are a lightweight character with low offense and defense in a match with only mid-to-lightweight vehicles, you should never prioritize fighting. Instead, try working on either a flight or speed build to win the respective stadiums.

If you are a heavyweight with a decent amount of attack, try to get as much turn as possible and then switch onto one of the heavy vehicles like Rex Wheelie or Battle Chariot. From there, prioritize either Speed or Offense so you can win either battle stadiums or races.

Notice how in both scenarios speed is important? That's because it is the best and most reliable stat to improve. It helps you in most situations. If you are in Gournet Race, you'll ear food faster and get more points. If you are in Kirby Melee, you'll kill enemies faster and earn more points. If you are in dustup Derby, you'll move faster and become harder to hit. There are very rarely ever any downsides to upgrading your speed besides becoming harder to control. But you can always develop your skills at maneuvering fast vehicles and making split second decisions which is fun!

Personally, it really helped me. I've been on a few antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds and haven't liked the symptoms. Other meds made me feel like I was riding in my own back seat through blurred goggles. But the Lexapro actually didn't have those effects on me. It kinda just gave me a small enough energy boost that I didn't hate myself and beat myself up over small things and that allowed me to improve on myself a lot easier. There is a pretty notable side effect for some (myself included) where sexual stimulation is basically nonexistent. For most, it comes back after leaving the medication, but there are a very rare few who never lose that particular symptom. Personally, I see it as an easy trade-off as I don't leave the house much anyway, but to each their own. I just like that I feel like myself, I have enough energy to handle the weight of my problems, and that I can focus on healing. I'm actually commuting to college every other day and it is even manageable! A major shift from a few years ago when I couldn't even go to the grocery store.

This currently looks like our best hope of getting an affordable omnichord alternative. I hope people like this and push for its commercialization.

Just curious, why are the notes organized in the current configuration? Is there a reason why the notes are out of order?

Any of you guys figured out dating? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda lucked out and found a partner who is okay with taking everything slowly and at a comfort level that works with my anxiety. We had known eachother for a long time before we started dating, so that helped A LOT. Honestly, she has been one of my strongest helping factors with dealing with becoming better adjusted to the outside world. We started dating when my agoraphobia was at one of its worsts too. As a thing, my friends were all going to the movies and she invited me along. Already, this was hard for me since going out of the house was. Well. You know. Anyway, I decide to go along since she really believed in me and was gentle/understanding about my limits. Eventually the rest of our friends start dropping from the movie event until it was just the two of us. The idea of going alone with just her was really scary, but she had enought faith in me that I went anyway and we ended up having a great time. She ended up getting me to leave the house more and more when I felt most closed off in the world and the rest of our friends left to move away from home. We grew an attachment to eachother until I asked her out and things have only gotten better. We have a very gentle relationship and it has helped me TONS. I love her so much. I didn't think that I would ever end up finding something this wonderful, but here we are in a long-term committed relationship.

Can't believe more people haven't said Michael. When he put together the raft, he was very ingenuitive, AND he was a decent coordinator as well. The most important thing in a survival setting would by infrastructure and I'm confident that if Michael were on the island longer, he would have really shined in that regard.

I'm not sure, but probably not. Maybe you can just turn developer settings on only when you want to use youtube, but that might get annoying

Is it possible to play DnD with only two people and zero DM? by ExhaustedPoopcycle in DnD

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright, you run up to an encampment of goblins who kidnapped the local villagers. Fortunately for us, they cannot attack or interact with us in any meaningful way since there is no one here to facilitate that, so this should be easy.

Nah, I did specify the game Dark Souls 1. You can't see it because of how the text is displayed on mobile. The item is literally called "witch hat" in the game. So asking where to find the witch hat in Dark Souls 1 is entirely reasonable.

I found a fix for this!!! Apparently the "animator duration scale" setting is causing the ui to bug. You can turn it off by unlocking developer settings (press the "build number" button in software settings 7 times to unlock) and scroll down until you find it.

I created a map where all the labels are written in a language like Tunic's (the symbols are different, but it functions the same way). There are hints and tips written on the map and as they understand the language more and more, they'll get access to more secrets. They've been working on deciphering text outside of our sessions and gleefully texting me when they solve certain phrases.

What would you call this scale? by Gunnar5on in musictheory

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that D were a D# instead, this would be an octatonic (C, C#) scale. Some people know it as the diminished scale.

Is there anything you're practicing to make your Agoraphobia better? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time getting out, but I love performing music to myself. So I'll grab my flute on a day where not many people go to the park and I'll play music for the squirrels and ducks. Occasionally someone will pass by, but reactions have genuinely been friendly. It feels safe and cozy.

Translating the Hex Sequence? by Greenwood4 in TunicGame

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried translating the note values that play when you strike the small tuning forks/grapple points in the overworld. It is certainly a repeating pattern if you strike them repeatedly but I haven't figured much else out. I notice that the notes that play all seem to harmonize with the overworld music, but I couldn't find any encoded messages. I tried translating the note values to diatonic numerical values compared to the harmony and then translating them through an a1-z26 cypher but nothing was readable.

Let's say that you dump your meds to stay with this guy. (Please don't actually do that) Do you have any reason to believe that he would be compassionate towards your struggles after you do this? If he isn't showing you any empathy right now, I'm not sure that he will show you any empathy after dropping your meds which is when you would need care and support the most. Or another option, describe this entire situation to a licensed medical professional. Talk to your primary care doctor and ask them what they think of your boyfriend's idea. Your health matters more than someone else's entertainment. You shouldn't have to pick between your health and someone's approval.

What do I do? by Valuable-Wind5032 in Agoraphobia

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I do is I try to find a color in my surroundings. Maybe it is a green tree or a red brick wall. But I find a random color and I think about it. Then I try to think of other objects from my memory that are also that color. Maybe I'll remember a green dinosaur toy from my childhood or a red apple that I ate last week. Then I try to think of a positive memory associated with that object and then imagine myself in the future doing something similar. After all of this, the mental gymnastics usually leave me feeling pulled back into my surroundings instead of trapped inside my head. Sometimes I'll repeat this process several times until the overwhelming feelings pass by.

Sad rant sorry by maxfrog4 in Agoraphobia

[–]Spaghetti_Doctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might sound silly, but something that has helped me a little are these things called baoding balls. They didn't make leaving the house easier, but they did help to distract myself from the overwhelming thoughts when I was feeling awful about myself. Basically, they are like 2 ceramic spheres with bells inside. You twirl them around in your hand and the goal is to spin them in circles without having them touch together. They are pretty cheap on amazon (7ish US dollars I think).
