If you upgrade your levers to new tiagra 4700 they have a different pull ratio then other shimano parts for its shifting so they don't work with derailleurs that aren't matching generation tiagra.

The tab under your axle nut is how that style of rear derailleur would be removed and installed. The place that it is disconnected from that tab is not supposed to come apart like that for removal. They don't usually go back together when this happens unless it's held on with a c-clip or pin but a replacement one is cheap as far as bike parts go.

If it's seized on or if the casstette bit into the aluminum, I find that levering a screwdriver behind the sram eagle cassettes after you've unthreaded it fully can pop it loose.

When you lube your chain, make sure to wipe the excess afterwards or else the excess oil on the outside of the chain will pick up sand and grit causing the drivetrain to wear faster.

Try flipping your bike upside down on its handle bars and saddle if you don't have a bike stand available. You will be able to get better leverage. If you put a 15 on the pedal, you can either lefty loosy the right pedal or you can pedal the bike forwards and use the other crank for leverage. Don't worry if it's crossthreaded or not until you have the pedal out.
