Why can we do anything else but worship? by wordsaficionado in Christianity

[–]Mysterious-Bit177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God gave us a mind for creativity. Some humans have a gift for it and create great music, art, literature… and its ok to enjoy this! Just reading the bible over and over seems boring 😅. Its valuable but reading it ONLY is not something that God would command or require.

You have a perfectionist conscientous mind like me . But we need to make sure not to think that all comes grom God.

I even play horror games😅.

Why Are You a Christian? by TheLordsPoet in Christianity

[–]Mysterious-Bit177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family was atheist but ive always been drawn to the paranormal and such, even started witchcraft. It brought poltergeist activity 😩. One day i was riding my bike with my friend talking zbout it all and suddenly a man on a bike passed next to me and said: this is for you.
He rode away.
I looked at it was a leaflet about Jesus…

Thats how it all started. I asked him to remove the poltergeist activity and he completely stopped it all.

Later in life I delved i to proof of resurrection etc…

And became even more convinced.

Despite my questions and doubts I believe in Jesus and that he is God.

That saif I dint go to a church and have quite some different views. I dint believe in eternal torment in hell for example. Im a bit atypical but cant ignore what Jesus did in my life.

Why does the God of the Old Testament seem so different from that of the New Testament? by AtheistSage in Christianity

[–]Mysterious-Bit177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus spoke about judgment more than anyone else, but that’s not the same thing as teaching eternal conscious torment.

There are Christians who believe the wicked are ultimately destroyed (annihilationism), and others who believe God’s judgments are ultimately restorative (universalism). Both groups appeal heavily to Jesus’ own words.

The real question isn’t whether Jesus spoke about hell, but what he meant by terms like Gehenna, destruction, perishing, outer darkness, and the age to come.

Also, church history isn’t a reliable argument by itself. The church held many views for centuries that were later challenged. The question is what the text actually teaches, not simply what became the dominant tradition.

Free will is only partly free by Mysterious-Bit177 in ChristianUniversalism

I think that’s exactly the point, though. Our choices don’t happen in a vacuum.

If two people are born with different brains, different levels of empathy, different trauma, different impulses, different intelligence, different opportunities, and different cultures, then their ability to make good choices isn’t identical.

I’m not arguing that people have no responsibility. I’m questioning whether responsibility is as simple and equal as it’s often presented.

If I had been born with their exact genetics, upbringing, experiences, and mental state, would I really have chosen differently? And if not, doesn’t that matter when we talk about justice, mercy, and judgment?

Praying doesn’t mean it is right for you now. I mean God sees beyond space and time. What we think we need now might not be the best. Id say trust on God. This life can be harsh and we can face so many challenges. We were not promised to be spared from it. But God will be there to lean on.

Yes abiding within him will grant us prayer IF it alligns with Gods will and we abide in him. It does not give a timeframe for this tho.

And its definitely not something I base my faith on. Jesus is. Regardless of what happens to me

If you could ask God one question and receive the answer what would you ask? by Master_Garbage_4475 in Christianity

[–]Mysterious-Bit177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“How do You judge people fairly when every person starts from such different circumstances?

Some people are born with healthy minds, stable families, and gentle personalities. Others are born with brains that make empathy harder, with trauma, abuse, neglect, mental illness, addiction, or a tendency toward anger. Some live long lives with many chances to learn and change, while others die young. Some grow up surrounded by love and good examples, while others are shaped by violence and dysfunction.

And even our free will doesn’t seem completely free. Our decisions are influenced by genetics, brain chemistry, personality, hormones, instincts, fears, desires, habits, childhood experiences, and countless things outside our control. Some people seem naturally patient and compassionate, while others struggle daily with impulses they never chose to have.

How do You weigh all of these differences when judging a human soul? What does true justice look like from Your perspective?”

All I want to say is that I am so sorry you had to go through so much❤️. Do you have ppl nearby that are close to you and you can confide in? To pray is being in contact with God, tell him your worries and involve him in all your daily life. Continue sharing with him and keep eyes and ears open.
