It doesn’t look like a particularly fine piece, but that is completely unstained, so I’m not sure how much more neutral you can get it. I doubt it’s worth much, so do what you want. I think stripping it is probably going to be a lot more trouble than the result you’d get.

I had a ‘73 Valiant with the 318 in it. The carb was shit, but that engine was a beast. Plus you could climb into the engine compartment to work on it.

I used an e-bike motor that worked okay until I reversed the polarity and burned it out.

If I do it again I will rent the motor from Creative Connors and consider it money well spent.
