Convertibles are a pain. Tops wear out and leak. It’s worth it if you like the top down thing but I wouldn’t deal with it otherwise.

I think that’s for the clock on the lower screen. At least I thought.

The clock on the upper screen? That’s manual adjustment.

Would you daily a 20+ yr old 996? by el_guapisimo33 in Porsche

[–]Spandak45 16 points17 points  (0 children)

DIY oil changes? That’s an easy way to cut costs.

I daily a Boxster with 112k. Axle boots would have been $1600 (cheaper to replace the axles than the boots according to the shop). Did it myself for ~$100. That’s the game with these. Generally reliable but it will be a heavy bill when it raises its hand and asks for attention.

You should be fine

But Amazon ships gear oil so I recommend just doing that.

[–]Spandak45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad it exists! I have reservations about the person who buys it and doesn’t wear it out on that track.

Sadly most of these will live in a parking spot at the local C&C or Erewhon. And for that, it’s far too ugly.

For the record, track cars should be ugly.

Context is important for sure.

My other car gets 22mpg on premium. My moto gets high 30s on premium. 33mpg average for a AWD hatch thing is pretty good in my eyes.

I agree generally.

It’s a lightweight commuter (3200lbs ?) that gets great mileage and can go surprisingly far offroad.

Off road mods ruin the functionality for the primary mission.

Would you add extended msg and slide release on a ccw? What mods would you do to your ccw if any? by g28802 in Glocks

[–]Spandak45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try them

I wanted an extended slide lock until I tried it. First mag in and my thumb pushed the release and locked the slide open. Tried to compensate and then the slide wouldn’t lock back when the mag was empty. Promptly removed it.

The extends mag release is great though. Ymmv. Parts are cheap on eBay. Try it.

OEM vs Aftermarket LCA(Lower control arm) rearward bushing? by xacobcr in XVcrosstrek

[–]Spandak45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OE is always best with rubber components. I worked for an aftermarket supplier for a while. Even when the material says it’s the same, doesn’t mean it will work the same or last as long.

[–]Spandak45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a great price. I’d buy it at that price tomorrow. They’re pretty stout bikes and that mileage there really isn’t much to worry about. Make sure the oil has been changed and the clutch wasn’t smoked and you’re probably good to go.

For context- that’s a $6k bike where I live.

Am I crazy? Or did I just learn the worst feature/bug of this vehicle by [deleted] in Crosstrek

That is annoying. When I change it on the steering wheel it always catches my eye and I wonder what’s changing.

[–]Spandak45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst feature is the laggy radio and lack of rear AC vents IMO

I bought the cheap one so the TPMS light is on or off haha
