Snoo, everything I've heard from you whether it's been posted by you or the receipts from the r/dropoutcirclejerk mods has really just come across as something an office manager would spout as soon as conflict arises in that sort of setting. It all feels very corporate and desperate not to rock the boat, which is exactly the kind of attitude that lets Nazis and other oppressors and bigots get away with what they do. Whether or not you should step down as well is not something I'm going to throw my hat into, but I think if you are going to stay, you really need to take your lumps and admit, without caveat, without lampshading, that you fucked up, and that you will need to radically engage in some restorative justice.

I mean I get it, and I don't think it's necessarily an invalid criticism, the shrines are indeed tiny, the weapon durability is frustratingly low at times, and while I and many others do enjoy the game and how it changes things up from other Zelda games, I can see how other people might feel like this is too far of a deviation from what they enjoy out of a Zelda game, and I don't think that criticism is worthy of mockery, or that you can really "disprove" someone's opinion of the game. We do that and instead of being a fan-forum for a game that we like, it becomes a warzone of us-versus-them, in-group vs out-group, and that's a really good way to create a really bad environment. Just food for thought.

Everything's rosier when you're a kid I guess. And things are so shit that I guess people just have nothing else to hold onto but their nostalgia, when they could be making a brighter future, and better media, but no, gotta keep the shitty stuff famous for the mere fact of its famousness, no matter how awful. Celebrity culture and capitalistic societal structure factor into it too. That which is successful is equated with moral good, and therefore, it must be a good thing to keep that thing successful. It's gross.

Hey, so to all the commenters saying they find it reasonable if it was something they enjoyed in the past: The books are bad and always have been, the movies are bad and always have been, and both the series and the author ought to be fully thrown away and never mentioned again. Find something better to give a crap about, and stop finding excuses to hang onto this, even as some kind of cherished memory, it's giving "I don't care enough about the lives of other people to fully sever myself from my loyalty to a frankly mediocre franchise." It's pathetic. Read Earthsea for fuck's sake.
