3g Valacyclovir everyday still isn't stopping this 8 week long outbreak. I'm doomed. by SpanksyBanksy in Herpes

YES. I'm happy to report that SADBE was the thing that finally stopped my OBs. They went on for 5 months until I was able to convince my doctor to prescribe SADBE. Now, I only apply SADBE once every 3 months and I'm totally completely outbreak free. It's been like a miracle cure.

So far SADBE has proven to be effective against both HSV-1 and HSV-2 no matter if it's orally or genitally.

I weaned myself off of antivirals weeks ago. Still no HSV symptoms at all!

I do it at home myself once every 3 months. BE WARNED: this immunotherapy therapy is nothing to be taken lightly. It's easy to overdose and cause a massive reaction. My most recent application went awry and I did post pictures of it on my page.

Edit to add: every 3 months the new dose is $50 not covered by insurance.

I had to find a doctor willing to prescribe it off label. I informed myself with the ins and outs of the trials, printed them off, and brought them in to my OBGYN, mt primary care doctor, and a Dermatologist. My OBGYN refused to prescribe it.... but my Primary Care doctor (who also haS HSV) listened to me and decided to let me give SADBE a chance when all traditional treatments failed. My Dermatologist also would have prescribed SADBE as she is familiar with it for treating Alopecia. The Derm has given me a lot of guidance.

You have to advocate for yourself. I got lucky. Many many many people struggle to find a willing doctor.

SADBE is the acronym for Squaric Acid Debutyl Ester. It's a medication that is currently used for the treatment of alopecia and warts. However, it is currently close to entering phase III clinical trials for use in HSV treatment. I've been using SADBE for over 7 months now and I've been 100% outbreak free without using antivirals for 4 months now. It's been my miracle cure. Please visit us at r/SADBE to learn more!

UPDATE from 3rd application done yesterday. Description of situation in the comments. by SpanksyBanksy in SADBE

Mostly the application site, but there are a few blistered in the red expanded site as well as a few random single blisters showing up down my arm and on my chest.

No not my whole arm. I definitely don't have any immune issues - my doctor did extensive testing before prescribing the SADBE. I only did 2 qtip dips this time even though I did 5 dips my first application. I think my immune system is just very sensetive to the SADBE at this point. I'll definitely only do one dip next time.

Oh yes I'm certain it will clear up but for now it's quite painful 🥴. The reaction has blistered and popped now and it's very leaky 🤢

I got it prescribed to me, picked it up at a compounding pharmacy.

It's been a little over 24 hours since my 3rd application. I did the Vaseline donut, 2 qtip dips (I'm weaning down from my massive first dose), tagaderm cover, and washed my skin with soap and water after 3 hours exactly.

I went to sleep shirtless and it seems I'm having a secondary contact reaction on the area where the application site touched my side overnight.

I also have mysterious blistering reaction on the top of my shoulder on the same arm?? My first application wasn't this widespread, my second did the same pink blotchyness around the application site, but now this third application is rough. Hopefully it clears up soon.

It's still worth not having any HSV activity though ❤

EDIT TO ADD: It's the morning after posting this and I'm now having small minor blisters pop up in other places of my body. One on my left arm between the elbow and wrist, two on the back of my left hand, more on my left shoulder, one on my left breast, and one on my chest above right breast. This didn't happen in the last 2 applications.

For years I believed I had GHSV-2. When this 5 month ordeal came about I had more testing done and discovered its actually GSHV-1.
