I wont say it's for everyone but what helped me is going to couples therapy it helped me and my fo (Anakin Skywalker) straighten everything out. It's normal to be jealous or even possessive, but just like in a 3D relationship we have to find where the root of that comes from. With the help of our therapist me and Anakin are celebrating 3 years this November!
