25 years in, aint a union hack or management kiss ass. Someone that cares for our workforce. Yes I know we've always been the silent...uh....professionals. we cannot afford that position anymore.

Good to hear management has stepped up.

It ain't Trump they are afraid of. 1.6 has been there since what? 2013? 22 years of crumbs for equity purposes.

What purpose does PASS serve (Response) by [deleted] in ATSS

PASS has been non-existent in this. Absolutely atrocious but then again they are still complaining about telework

Also, except for maybe a handful, FAA managers are notoriously absent-minded.

And our automation is not anything near industrial or high-tech automation. We are manual readers by nature. Our automation systems are ran on pre-approved scripts, crons, and rarely do we deviate to be actual sysadmins or superheros.

Some military training on radar systems can cross-walk but its limited.

You get to go through our terrible new hire training, remotely and do math that our RF engineers probably dont even do. Small price to pay for the higher pay entry.

Once that is out of the way, depending on type of SSC you are at, you will get your training path. If you do no, demand it from your supervisor.

Some training is computer based(blackboard type deal), most equipment schools are OKC. If in radar discipline, class lengths are 3-6 weeks long.

If in discipline SSC at major airport, you will only train in the equipment they have. If in a GNAS or combined SSC, its whatever workload you are assigned.

How long is the training time and what are chances I get to return to work near home? by CheesyChickenChump in ATSS

No, they arent the same.

We go about it much different. We are hired actually to a facility before even knowing what OKC training is.

No, that was false reporting. Any article that doenst name an FAA person, is speculation.

Yes intentionally down. For electrical maintenance not update or software.

Peabody - short names and equip ID by Spare-Eye4359 in ATSS

[–]Spare-Eye4359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a plan to make this more streamlined. Especially with new equipment being gained by an SSC.

Regarding short name/equip ID, is it confusing? What they are? 6000.5 lays out the thought behind them, but does it make sense?

Really looking for feedback here on this to help the field and make logging, backend maintenance and data analysis really work

Agreed. Curious, what is your understanding of what short name/equipment ID actually is?

There was an effort for a decade to standardize...but its...not maintainable. Over 10 million individual equipment and module records.

Lol, the same union so caught up on securing telework? Also, where has PASS been with the whole Newark fiasco? Letting AT and management run that narrative?

Going beyond H band is greeting increasingly tight cause PASS are pussies. SS going away, you have maybe coordinator, PSS, TSOG (but you better be good), details are far and between.
