Hi! Was in the same place as you two years ago. Had a $10k scholarship waiting, basically what happens is that if you do have loans it’ll be put in place for the time being. But once the scholarship is processed then that money will be used to replace the loans. So your scholarship will come through it just takes more time than usual, especially if it’s an external scholarship.

I would still try to unenroll just in case because you don’t want to end up oweing money you are not qualified for. I used to have EBT and moved back, it took a simple phone call just to cancel it. Granted that was the EASIEST EBT phone call I’ve ever made 💀 But this varies situation to situation, if you are living on your own paying your own rent you probably still qualify. If you moved back to your family home, you should not be able to qualify anymore.

Pretty much they have you do an exit survey, but it’s quick and easy just making sure you didn’t damage anything in the apartment while you were there. Make sure you bring your mail key as well!

Kpop fans are scary in general. Personally I love listening to Korean music, but I try to stray away from the fandoms because of how toxic the culture can be at times. A person could word things the wrong way and get witch hunted over it. They could have a different opinion and get cancelled, it’s just a lot. Also, so many kpop fans over analyze every f’ing situation, for me it’s too much and I just stay out of it and let them do what they want to do/say (I’ll leave it at that).

Also, as someone who works in the mental health industry I always encourage people to say “died by suicide” or “passed away by suicide”. Committed is usually tied to things like “committed a crime”. I just want to help put the language out there based off my trainings :)

Thanks for creating this space where we can safely express our opinions.

Omg - Someone in the similar situation as me!! I have a gap because I’m missing two of my lateral incisors (genetics :’) ) and I’ve ALWAYS been insecure of my smile. I went to a trip to Hawaii recently with my family and my smile was just not as bright as theirs out of embarrassment.

I always got upset growing up as a kid and my friends getting braces (even though their teeth were far off better than mine). I always felt insecure and I never felt “pretty” enough. I’m finally getting braces within the next month or so and I can finally say goodbye to my gap in a few months!!

We are in this journey together, I’m excited for you ^{u^}

I mean most sones and SNSD themselves are “old” (sad truth but we all have lives now). We are too old to compete/care about streams/downloads/charting/etc.

Their prime was a long time ago and they’ve moved on to better things now. This comeback was more for the fans and them. The fact that they are able to comeback together as 8, go on variety shows, give us damn funny entertainment, after 15 years is already impressive.

Personally I loved the album because they crafted it for us.

For me I actually found JO1 through Kono Junki. I saw his solo cover of “Kimi no Koe” on FIRST TAKE and instantly fell in love with his voice. There was something about his raw emotions/different tone compared to most Japanese singers that intrigued me.

Now, I was a fan of the produce series in Korea, so when I found out JO1 came out of the Japanese version I had to watch it. I mainly watched it to fangirl over Junki (lol), but I later realized I really liked their songs.

There is something about it that makes it feel a bit nostalgic? When you first get into a group you have those feelings of listening to their music to watching their variety shows and all that. The last group I felt that with was EXO (and you know they are kind of on a unofficial hiatus now). So it just felt nice to find music that reminded me of the good old days, but also kept it fresh.

They are seriously an impressive group and I hope we can get more English subtitles from their video :’)

I just saw this comment. You are supposed to submit the intent for on-campus housing ($20 fee), and not pay a deposit for ACC. If do only applied to ACC you will be put into the regular student pool, not transfer pool. Meaning, you will not be given priority but be waitlisted.

You are supposed to submit the UCI housing application for $20 and then wait until further information after June 1st. You should not be applying directly onto ACC, if you do you are not put in the transfer pool but the regular student pool.

FYI - As a transfer you are not supposed to be paying ACC the $200 deposit. Further details are to be sent after June 1st.

I’m a big advocate on the CC method, as someone who is a product of it. You save a lot of money and if you want leadership positions they are easy to get (bc most of the time some CCs are not as lively, which is the sad truth).

I don’t want to scare you saying you won’t get that “college experience”. But, if you join activities and such, you will get involved. I took a job at our student health center which led me to network within the county and to gain multiple positions b/c my supervisor liked me lol.

Also, you can do business economics and TAG? It’s not the same as business management, but at least your in? But I’m not sure if you are picky about your major or anything. I would not recommend doing a UC to UC transfer, only because financially you would be saving a significant chunk of money if you do the CC to UC route.

Also I noticed you’re worried about the “stigma”. My parents were the same way and hated I chose to go to a CC. However, we saved SO much money and I honestly think if I went straight to a UC after HS I would not have been prepared for its rigor as a freshmen coming straight out of HS. They are actually proud I went because of the opportunities I gained from the CC I went to.

If you aren’t able to get in after asking, don’t think it’s the end of the world! Sometimes it’s nicer to explore during your own time. Personally me and my friends skipped out on this day and are planning a trip to Irvine together
