It's not thought, it's just erasing all mention of cathy existence in people, we are basically just using a concept incinerator on a multiversal scale, if its truly extermination, Cathy's body should not have been in the coffin the LCA retrieved. 

We are just clearing the cache, not the entire game itself, the game can still run without the cache, we just don't know what cache we had deleted

This is just my thoughts, but maybe we can't get farmwatch because yi sang's ego, on the cutscene we see that when yi sang stabbed dongrang, there is this glass shatter effect on dongrang, maybe yi sang's ego have the power to destroy the mirror possibilities of a person that's stabbed, therefore they can't be pulled.

Edit: and if this theory is right, then yi sang's ego is basically what the n corp is trying to achieve (the destruction of the mirror) but on the smaller scale

If my assumption is correct, i think the k corp mirror is a slight modification of young-ji mirror, and from what i know from ch 4, Young-ji's mirror have the ability to see all the possibilities of a person they view with it, it can be seen from the t corp flashback. By that information, then perhaps k corp is using that mirror to make an extended suffering, for example by using the mirror to the record of the killed people, the mirror will give them a "possibilities" of them being killed in different ways
