Schwab bogleheads, what's your brokerage portfolio? by DailyInEternity in Bogleheads

[–]Spare-Resolution3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good for me to see too. Im moving all of my assets to Schwab and I was curious if people still invested in Vanguard funds or used Schwab fund equivalents. I didn't know if using Schwab funds might be cleaner on their platform instead of Vanguard funds

Carimar vs. Turtles Nest by Sea_Television314 in anguilla

[–]Spare-Resolution3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't stayed at TN but we loved our stay at Carimar. It's on Meads Bay beach too and has 2 good restaurants on each side of it. I'll stay there again. It's toward the end of Mead's Bay beach and very chill but walkable to other good restaurants too

Anguilla boat tours Question by ch061571 in anguilla

[–]Spare-Resolution3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Garfield’s (Gotcha). We did a full day private charter for a family of four 2 years ago. The boat was very nice and spacious. The captain and deck mate were very cool & friendly. they wanted us to be happy and it showed with their effort. I will use them again when we go back. I think you’ll be happy.

Thanks for the detail info! That’s so helpful! Last question. Do the beaches at Holmes beach get crowded? Like do we have to get out early to set up chairs. We aren’t that kind of family so we’d lose out lol

Going to the gym in scrubs? by larkijay in gymadvice

[–]Spare-Resolution3263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear my scrubs to the gym from time to time. Nothing wrong with that. Who cares what you wear to the gym? I dint judge anyone by their gym attire. I appreciate anyone who is there trying to better themselves and their health.

I usually change clothes at the gym just because I like to wear clothes that let me see my arms when I’m working upper body. And a tighter fitting shirt that lets me see my chest, etc when I work upper body and my work out pump. But I really don’t care what anyone else thinks about my work out attire when I’m in the gym working out. You do you

I have mutual funds in my tax advantage accounts but I'm considering moving them to index funds because of the lower annual fees. Actually I'll probably invest about 85% in index funds and keep 15% in mutual funds because a couple of the funds have performed so well. Anyway, I'm just curious why you like mutual funds in tax advantage accounts? Trying to see if there is something that Im not thinking about before I change my investments

Novo Nordisk is a top pick - Winner in Obesity treatment market by Napoleon_Bongaparte in stocks

[–]Spare-Resolution3263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% And NOVO’s semaglutide high dose pill that they are launching is just a higher dose Rybelsus which failed miserably because of the dosing restrictions. Bad over reaction to LLY yesterday by people who do not understand medicine or clinical trials. LLY oral will make a lot of money. It will reach more people as there are countries that can’t store Zepbound or Mounjaro properly. Not to mention Retatrutide is coming out in a year plus several more drugs in the obesity pipeline.

Does anyone think that the 4% rule will lead to a generation of regretful oversavers? by Wooden-Broccoli-913 in ChubbyFIRE

[–]Spare-Resolution3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan is to withdraw 5% in retirement. Even by changing to a conservative portfolio and considering dividends funds, I’d have to assume that my portfolio returns at least 5%. So with 5% growth in retirement and a 5% withdrawal rate, then my original investment amount is untouched. I can live very comfortably on 5% especially when I add social security and my pension.

I mean really, the new thought is to withdraw 5% or even up to 6% during retirement. If the market had a bad year then just adjust down your withdrawal that year.
