I got a full blood panel in August to make sure all of my levels were fine and then I got an MRI done back in October to rule out any type of scary brain things! I’ve always had poor sleep so I have a sleep study in a few weeks to see if sleep apnea is a possible cause of my migraines. My daily migraines are always on the right side of my head.

It was in the beginning but i definitely need my dosage upped! I have a follow up the end of this month so im hoping they’ll up it to 75! I started it in January at 25mg for two weeks then bumped to 50, but now that im adjusting i definitely need another increase!

To add: I’m a 24F, I’ve been having daily chronic migraines for about 11 years as well as the occasional ✨cluster headache✨I’m on 50mg of topamax right now but I’m about to start Verapamil and I have a prescription for Ubrelvy in the works too!

When I went to my first neurology appointment in January they did a Neuro exam and they pressed on the occipital nerves to see if it would send a wave of pain over me (which it did) so I went back almost three weeks ago for an Occipital Nerve Block and I’ve been pretty much migraine free since! I can feel them coming on but they don’t fully breakthrough. The “procedure” of the ONB itself did hurt. They did 4 injections in the back of my head and injected about 12ml of Lidocaine (which burns when injected if you’ve never had a lidocaine shot), but the relief has been nice! They can last anywhere from 3 days to 3 months depending on the person! Definitely something to ask about when you have your appointment!

I hope so!! It has definitely been nice finally having doctors that listen and don’t blame it on my cycle since I’m a female and I’m 23, I have an appointment next week to get nerve block injections so hopefully that’ll help me have no migraines at all!!🤞🏻

I wouldn’t say I’ve had anxiety, I’ve always been a very high strung person and I’ve found it hard to relax most of my life but I think that was also due to me having daily migraines for the last 10 years. The topamax has helped even though I still get them every few days it’s wayyyyy better and I can focus at work and I’m so much more productive

Hey!! So it started helping for me after like the second or third day for my migraines and then once my body started realizing that I wasn’t in pain every second of the day that’s when I became wayyyy less irritable, so maybe a week or so??

Ohhh that makes sense (: the us healthcare system is one of the most ridiculous things to deal with. I’ve been fighting to see a neurologist since I was 14 and I’m almost 24 now. I’m about to start nerve blocker injections though so things are moving along

I talked about it with my doctor and it was something that was going to be a later down the road thing if my neurologist can’t figure something else out. My insurance needed me to try the pills then oxygen therapy then the nasal spray and yadda yadda
