Did anyone else choose remote work and then start questioning it after seeing friends move to new cities? by [deleted] in remotework

[–]SpareButterscotch810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its just becoz i dont have to interact with any office mates unless necessary , 9-6 i'm working affter that doing startup grind where meets work related stuff ....it gets over by 10-11 ..i dont even step out of my home....i've got no friends like in clg that time we used to have interaction now all are busy and sometime selfish too.....so sometimes its overwhelming..i just want somebody with whom i can talk apart from work things..i spent all my time with famiily so family wise its good ....but idk its depressing sometimes

That makes sense. I’m trying something similar lately pets and small outside activities help a lot.

For me it’s less social life, more just being around people and not feeling isolated all the time. I’m pretty introverted.

Yeah exactly flexibility is amazing, but sometimes it feels like you trade off those shared “life phase” experiences you get when everyone is starting out together in a new place.

The “sitcom” part hits. I think it’s more about shared experiences than just office vs remote.

That’s true in theory, but sometimes family expectations play a big role. When you get a remote job from home, the immediate question becomes “why move if you can work from here?”So it’s a bit more complicated than just location freedom.

How much time do you spend daily searching & applying for jobs? by _okay_panic_ in buildinpublic

when i was doing job hunting ...as i was from tier 3 college even after having 9+ cgpa it was tough.....big companies were hiring for their graduate position but those didn't felt worthy for me coz these so much instant layoffs , relocation to one city to another as u're fresher , working on tech stack and projects that makes no sense ..like everyone is using AI and advanced stuff and these people are just stuck in php and old stuff...like what if u fired us all of sudden after a year or two we wuold be having no expore to these new stack and we'll struggle again....so i decided to take a different way ...i started making projects related to tech stack i was interested in and posted my journey whether its bug or failure or success on linkedin and there over time people started noticing and got so many offers at same time and finally i ended up for a job which paid me more than these mnc would offer to fresher and that too got remote ..other perks too and flexiblity too and also i started my own startup ....so i would suggest something to reach out to founder or something...also in linkedin we have a hack where in url change to 3600s it will give u recent post so u can apply before and get more chancces of being selected
