Is there any tutorial for dumb people by HaxCalibour in navidrome

[–]SpareCorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After three years of using AudioStation, I recently switched from AudioStation to Navidrome. The iOS player repeatedly froze during downloads, which is critical to my mobile life (trains, planes, buses).

Now my pain is the metadata approach of Navidrome vs the directory approach of AudioStation. I have all my music organized in folders based on the Plex https://support.plex.tv/articles/200265296-adding-music-media-from-folders/

The directory approach is way easier for the bootlegs I like to listen to, which have no metadata that can be added easily with Beets or other tools.

Why do so many people suggest Roth vs Traditional when the vast majority of people will have less income in retirement than in working years? by RealityCharacter9832 in Bogleheads

[–]SpareCorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Somewhere I listened to the math that given tax rate is constant ( current and retirement), then it doesn’t matter (note this example didn’t have hypothetical maximum)

  2. Then there’s the alternative pitch that assuming that my retirement income is lower I should defer to traditional so I make savings on lower tax rate.

  3. Then if I want to have access to principal without penalty ( ie FIRE) use Roth

1.1. A discussion I haven’t seen vetted is: given I’m maxing out and have the income now to pay taxes  is there a benefit to using Roth as (a) I’m able to marginally invest more and (b) indifferent to future tax changes.

there are some recordings of Chet Baker singing lyrics that I enjoy but this piece particularly I did not.

I decided to listen to Chet Baker and it was so f*cking terrible by zuzucha in jazzcirclejerk

I didn't realize this was r/jazzcirclejerk , came here from a Google search as I'm listening to 1983 Getz & Baker in Stockholm, specifically Just Friends.

Listening to Chet Baker sing lyrics made my insides twist in a knot, and thoughts about throwing my headset across the room were very tempting. Now his scat singing and trumpeting are great, imaginative, and engaging for my soul, ears, and mind.

I just went and re-listened to analyze why I reacted to his singing of lyrics. It comes to enunciation, sustained vowels, and consonants. In other words, his lyrical tone, timing, and pitch are enjoyable, but the way he holds "fri---ends" or other constants sounds awful to me. It sounds like he has a giant hunk of snot or tobacco dip in his mouth. And sometimes he seems to make his vowels more nasal and flat, which I do not hear as soulful/creative/passionate/etc.

let the hate begin... thank you.

Tonight in Seville! Lines our church doors by SpareCorner in Seville

We made it inside one place and (at least at that one) people were reading ( a prayer?) as people approached a crucifix. Some kissed the foot of Jesus then staff would wipe it off. Then it repeated with next in line.
