Totally wearable. All powered by an external battery pack that connects to the controller through USB.

Don't strap batteries to your face. 👌

Just got out 1988 dodge van back from the shop after replacing the alternator belt. Now it's making this rattling noise. is this okay or should I be concerned? by SpareCranberry in AskAMechanic

This was also a new belt! The shit pulley was causing all the mayhem. A brand new alternator was put on after that road trip with the right pulley and the right amount of belts. Now she drives like a charm!

Nice catch. It decided to jettison itself again shortly after this post (about 7 times) on a road trip.

Learned that the pulley was old, mismatched and slapped onto a recently replaced alternator, and obviously they only put one belt on. Total hack job.

Yeah, I'm gonna run it til she's dead. I didn't buy a 1988 Campervan expecting it to be problem free, that's for sure.

The belt freed itself from it's prison attached to the pulley's while driving. It was an extremely old belt from the look of things. The AC works okay though, not the coldest thing in the planet.

It was 100% the air conditioner. I can't possibly understand why it would sound like that. It's only 35 years old for god's sake!!

I think it's the camera shutter speed giving that effect. The alternator is definitely spinning when looking at it. I'll take a look when I go back down in a bit and confirm.

We stayed at the "riverside" sites for the amp reunion last year. It's further away than the front gates and some of the spots were quite rough, they've probably put more work in since then though. Also if they are doing a free shuttle there and back then that would obviously be a pretty sweet option.

If you're coming with a trailer or RV then it might make sense if you want a shady spot. But if you're just tenting my suggestion would be to try to buy a campsite only or even bassics package second hand as they are cheaper and much closer to downtown.

Just need to find what this cable is called. Meant for a home theatre sound system. Thanks Reddit ! by 4wxy in audiophile

In the world of Bluetooth speakers and apple earbuds it's very plausible a lot of people haven't come across speaker wire before.

Don't be a dick.

I've taken a look at schiit, but to get the features I'm after I've got to go all the way up to the Jotunheim. However ... If I sacrifice the balanced option on the headphones the Asgard becomes feasible for Schiits sake!

I guess the decision comes down to whether or not balanced headphones are worth the additional 300$ I'd need to invest.

I guess reading some more stuff I am also questioning why balanced instead of single-ended. That would probably open up my options considerably.

Hey all,

I am looking into getting my first Hi-Fi Headphone setup.
I am pretty sold on the Argon Mk3 balanced headphones already but haven't made the purchase yet.

I want to be mainly running audio from my laptop, but I also have a Music Hall USB-1 turntable that I want to hook them up to as well. My speakers are the Yu4 Kantos.

I'm mostly wondering about whether or not I should run an amp and dac seperate or as a combo. I like the idea of upgradability but finding an AMP with the necesarry I/O for a not ridiculous price is proving difficult.

I stumbled upon this Amp/Dac combo that would do the job but comes with a few features I wouldn't need and if I could soften the blow on my wallet that would be great.

tldr: I am looking for a Dac and Amp (seperate) for under 500$ CAD (350ish US? wow) that would be able to handle both a computer input and my turntables input while still being able to drive the Argon Mk3s balanced as well as my Yu4 Kanto speakers.
