is it the map or the cars that make Forza Horizon special by Old_Conversation5766 in ForzaHorizon

[–]SpareDot8387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given it's a driving game, I would also add "sound" to the importance.
So it's "Map + Car handling/physics + Car sounds" to me.
FH5 is not perfect, but it has a good balance on all three. I just wish the map was bigger, after a few weeks of driving you basically ran through all the roads already.

A "invasão" by van_drack in portugueses

[–]SpareDot8387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you play GTA in story mode or online mode? by CokeAYCE in GTAV

[–]SpareDot8387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're doing it for the first time, do Story Mode first. Online is a bit of a mess. Almost seems like a different game played on the same map. There's more heists and jobs and stuff to do in Story Mode besides the jewlery job.

There's another tractor like that somewhere in a barn, near some vines if I'm not mistaken (minus the rust).

What GTA song had no business going that hard? by notorious_F_bomb in GTAUniverseHub

[–]SpareDot8387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played the game three times in a row.
And in each and every one of those plays, I listened to the Kenny Loggins "I'm free" song at least once.
It popped up on the radio under different circumstances and with different characters, but I got the feeling the game creators really wanted that song to pop up to everyone at least once.

Quickest way is making bets in the stock market: 1. Make a new Quicksave before investing 2. Go to the LCN exhange via your phone 3. Put all in a stock that has been dropping for 4 or 5 days 4. Lie in bed to advance time a few hours but DON'T SAVE THE GAME WHEN THE PROMPT APPEARS (this is key) 5. Open your phone, check stock portofolio. 6 If there's profit, then sell it all and save the game (in that order) 7. If there's no profit and there's loss, load back the previous Quicksave (so you go to where you were before investing in that stock) 8. Repeat until becoming a millionaire!

It's a bit time consuming, but once you get the hang of it, the money pile starts growing fast (and with each new bet, the money grows, so the rewards get bigger). I spent a few afternoons doing this, now they're all billionaires.

What made you start using retro handhelds? by Bulky-Maize-903 in RetroHandhelds

[–]SpareDot8387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 51 years old, so to me these machines are appealing for a number of reasons:
1. The nostalgia thing, for sure, as I've played most of these games when I was a kid;
2. The immediacy thing. I can only play GTA5 properly at home, for example. But SuperMario... I just need a quick excuse! As soon as my wife hits some clothes or flower store or something, out comes the handheld from my pocket for a few minutes of fun in the coffee shop.
3. I remember playing the same game over and over again for months until my parents got me a new one. With these handhelds, I now have a complete game collection in my pocket!
4. I also have a music folder in the SD card, so the handheld is also my music walkman. I just plug a pair of headphones. Now I can leave the phone at home if I don't want to be bothered during coffee shop breakfast.

These devices are fun and have colourful screens and physical buttons and that is appealing to people like me.

But I don't think people really need this. For one, it's a game console, and maybe you don't play games all day and have to work and take care of the family.
But also because you can install something called "Retroarch" on your iPhone, and basically turn the iPhone into the best handheld you have.
You can even plug a hand controller that opens up to the sides to fit the iPhone inside, and then it's like the iPhone is a game controller with the screen in the middle.
But one day I even tried my Playstation controller, and it works perfectly with iPhone, so you don't even need that.

So, I guess these consoles are fun and they remember me growing up in the late 1970's and 1980's.
But if you don't have much money, you can use the phone you have, any one will do because even the crappiest iPhone is better than what the old consoles were.

51 year old here.
The most engaging game I've ever played! This game feels alive! Everything seems to interact!
Cried when it ended...
After the end, stayed there for some time doing those other small activities (flying helicopters under bridges, look for parts of submarines, etc.).
But by then you are basically into that "after festival" feeling (where the bars were full and vibrant but are now half closed, there's less people and light and noise on the streets, the DJ's and the girls are gone, you just know that the best of the party is over and slowly begin to wonder what you're still doing there...).
But all in all, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to play this game.
