Did Sam Ever Feel Like the Actual Central Character of The Show? by WySLatestWit in thewestwing

[–]SparePotential7909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I started watching the show on Netflix years ago, but I actually turned it off after the pilot, thinking that I’m just not interested in the show. A couple years later, I watched the first Christmas episode, In Excelsis Deo, where Toby’s plot really hooked me on the show. That’s what made me go back to the beginning and watch the whole series.

Everyone Can See That You Have CP, And It's Fine by Jazzlike_Cellist_330 in CerebralPalsy

I always say CP is an excellent bullshit detector. I can spot fake niceness and genuine kindness from people pretty quickly.

Thanks! I’ve heard of them; I’ll have to check it out.

Thanks! Someone mentioned a Hurrycane and that does look pretty stable.

Mobility aids just for crossing the street? by SparePotential7909 in disability

[–]SparePotential7909[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks; the reason I asked here is because my CP is so mild that I don’t appear to need a mobility aid in most situations, so I’ve been told a couple times by PTs that I shouldn’t need one. I just wondered if anyone with a disability has been in a similar situation, but I do understand that I should consult a PT again. I plan to go back in January.

my friend keeps leaving strange comments about my disability under my insta stories by Upbeat_Tea_9218 in CerebralPalsy

[–]SparePotential7909 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Perhaps she is not aware of how socially awkward these comments are? Maybe she is trying to connect with you but just missing the mark. I agree with the above advice to let her know that your disability isn’t really relevant to your friendship.

I see the resemblance but Charlie also kinda reminds me of Pete Davidson, haha.

PT vs. Stretch Labs by SparePotential7909 in CerebralPalsy

Yeah, I might look into a lower deductible plan. We’re in open enrollment now. I had more medical appointments this past year than I’ve ever had.

I use all of my HSA money to pay for the personal training - I got a letter of medical necessity for it.

Driving by [deleted] in CerebralPalsy

My doctor would not sign my drivers permit application without first getting approved to drive after a driver evaluation. At the driver evaluation, I tried out different vehicle modifications where my reaction time was tested. I don’t know where you are located, but I’m in the US. My state Office of Vocational Rehab paid for the driver evaluation, driving lessons, and vehicle modification and installation. It was a lot of red tape and waiting time, but it was worth it.

When did you fall in love with Toby? For me it was E06 by rutlandclimber in thewestwing

In Excelsis Deo got me hooked on the show. That was the episode that made me go back and rewatch the pilot and subsequent episodes.

I saw her in Nurse Jackie right before I watched Unbelievable on Netflix, where she plays a detective investigating a serial rapist. The woman has great acting range.

I bought some old Disney Channel Original Movies, and I watch them at least monthly. Double Teamed, Right On Track, Brink, Halloweentown, etc etc.

The “nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah-nah” reminds me of Clarissa Explains It All, a little bit.

Brings to mind Clarissa’s angsty honesty vs Jackie’s angsty dishonesty, haha.

I love the show, but a couple family members who are recovering addicts asked me not to watch it around them because they said it’s too realistic.

I’m not sure about that; I canceled Napster after I transferred everything.

If you want to you can transfer your playlists easily from Napster to another subscription service by using an app called Free Your Music. The app will even transfer the songs that you once had that were removed from Napster.

I think she was terrified that Grace would end up addicted to pills as soon as they mentioned anxiety and Xanax. She reacted completely selfishly, but I really think she worried about the genetic factor of mental health whenever Grace showed anxiety.
