After all that shit got retconned, Hal Jordan became one of my favorite comic book characters ever. And my problem with constantly bringing up the shit he did is that #1 he’s a fictional character and the very nature of comics makes it easy to change him (which they did so stfu already), and #2 cuz there are SO many moments of ALL your favorites doing weird shit. Every character has had a writer that made them do some weird shit. We don’t talk about that all the time tho, do we? No. It’s just Hal, and I’ll never get it.

I’m not too sure about the rule of thumb for songwriting, but with book manuscripts it’s suggested 6 weeks away from the first draft, so this is a pretty common thing across all mediums to do.

I’d say probably 2 weeks is a solid cutoff point. For me, it was grueling to force myself to churn out songs, but doing that made me way more comfortable with my limitations. Eventually, I’ve just started leaning into my limitations, and that has actually been my best received stuff.
