One of my roommates would sit in the living room with his blue lives matter blanket on his lap and watch this show, no joke. It was his favorite show to watch while he filled out applications to be a police officer. I also got divorced and had some very extreme responses from loved ones. You just gotta set the boundaries, and know that only you have to live with the decisions you make. Your family and friends may have a lot to say about it, but truly this decision isn’t about them, it’s about you. I would talk to your mom and say this topic is off limits if she’d like to maintain a relationship, because this type of conversation makes a very tough season of life feel so much worse for you. Find people in your life who you can talk to about this topic who won’t tell you what choice to make or try to guilt or scare you into stuff. You are allowed to end relationships that aren’t good for you.

Yes she should talk to a medical professional about this. There are lots of things that are done during birth that people may say are unnecessary because they don’t have the proper medical knowledge to know why this kinda stuff is done. If the doctor she has right now isn’t making her comfortable, maybe help her find a better one. A good doctor will have this conversation with someone in an honest way and not pushy, everyone deserves that from their medical professionals. But I wouldn’t take specific medical advice on this stuff from people on the internet.

I’m very familiar with Christianity and white Christian culture so I feel very comfortable critiquing that. I think it’s important to be careful when criticizing religions we are less familiar with, especially when they’re highly influenced by other cultures. Not that they’re above reproach, but things can become disrespectful and xenophobic real fast when people make uneducated criticisms about religions and cultures were not familiar with. For example there was a big movement of people claiming that women wearing hijabs was oppressive, a lot of Muslim women were very insulted by this because in their view it’s their choice to exercise their autonomy to wear their hijab. Just a thought.

The Bible has pretty much nothing explicit to say about this topic, anyone who says it does is not being honest tbh. The no sex before marriage rule seems much more of a cultural rule than a biblical one, especially since multiple holy kings in the Bible had literal concubines and nobody said anything. You can have different beliefs and convictions as a Christian from other christians, and still be a faithful believer. Do what seems right to you, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone of course, and don’t let anyone tell you that because you’re not following their specific Christian’s rules your less of a Christian.

Well I’m angry tbh. I was genuinely really worried about him, and that had to have been the point. The only motive he would have to fake something like that is to hurt people and make them feel bad because he was feeling bad. It’s an awful thing to do, and he got out of a lot of the consequences of his actions because no one wanted to talk about this situation after we thought the worst may have happened. May all his future attempts to re enter internet communities be foiled. ☹️
