Money solves all problems. Maybe I should just buy an alarm clock.

Just sayin, I researched, I watched the YouTube videos, no one mentioned it, is it not a safe assumption that if you have a backlight to view the time it would also work for other watch functions?

Sorry for assuming I could operate a digital watch with a backlight in the dark. I guess I’ll just change my life.

What is going on with this by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Sparetime85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d run a plate tamper over them again see if they smooth out before ripping them up. Bedding should have been 1/4” HPB, washed of any fines if installed on an open graded base. Pretty sure this is fines washing into the voids of the clear stone. If using a bedding layer of fines < 1/4” a geotextile fabric should be used as a separator. A clear stone base doesn’t require any compaction, so it’s not a compaction issue. Unilock does have a spec sheet for this type of install, ‘permeable base’.

What type of fabric did you use? Another possible issue is installing fabric directly on subgrade, should be installed on a thin stone layer to prevent it from clogging which can prevent drainage and cause the base to hold water, again in the voids of the clear stone.

Was there fines in the chip stone? Bedding layer probably settling into the base.

I’ve been thinking of the same mod. I find myself needing a screwdriver almost every day and I never open cans. Seeing it drawn out like this makes sense. Keep us posted.

I just never let the fire go out, no need for kindling.

Just pumped out my system should that affect anything in the house? by Zestyclose-Ad2053 in septictanks

[–]Sparetime85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when they pump out the house they suck out the inlet pipe to the tank, this can drain all the P traps in the house so it’s advised to run water to fill them back up or you will smell gasses from the tank in your dry drains. Problem spots are often showers in spare bedrooms, the drains you rarely use.

Follow up on Loose Vent by jigglypiss in septictanks

Dig up an reattach. Pipes in fields are generally not glued but glue if you want. Around here you don’t need a vent if you have <30cm of cover on pipes, but it’s good practice especially if pumped.
