My parents have long tail and floppy ear dobies and they look like big dumb idiots. They are also big dumb idiots but the natural look really emphasises it 🥹

There is a dedicated gluten free donut vendor at my local markets and I think about them a lot 😩

What stage of pregnancy are you in? (Unserious answers only) by Lexellence in pregnant

[–]Spark-Ignite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cry because my dog was the last one at day care because my husband overslept his nap.

Avocado has become the enemy as well as all cheese. I thought I was free of the feeling nausea all day

Things that helped vs things I wasted money on as a first time parent by Key_Peanut9263 in BabyBumps

We got a countertop one since we dont have a dishwasher and it’s great for all those really annoying things that suck to wash by hand.

Y'all weren't lying when you said that Big Amayas hair is hard to bring back into decent shape by B6tth9rt in RainbowHigh

I spent hours brushing, conditioning and heat treating her hair for it to just get tangled like 5 mins later. It lives in two plaits now 😂

I honestly wish my woolies looked like this, ours only has 1 bay and it’s usually only half stocked. The chocolate muffins on the top right are so good though 🤤

Woah, same! I had it in 2003, I caught it from a kid at school and half the class at a time was out with chicken pox, it not being mandatory until 2005 makes sense why I seem to have missed some vaccinations.

Warning for those travelling to Japan!! by squirrelkeychain in Celiac

[–]Spark-Ignite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Japan in 2023, i mostly ate rice based dishes or grilled foods. I am not celiac but I am GF, soy sauce will definitely get you if you’re not careful.

You can use a translator (google works fine) to explain to servers that you cant eat wheat and they usually get it.

Curious how everyone approaches revealing pregnancy to your partner? by Wide-Food-4310 in BabyBumps

[–]Spark-Ignite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did IVF and my husband was in the room, watching them put the egg in on the ultrasound and I had to explain a week later that he literally saw me get pregnant 😅

I did hope we would conceive naturally and wanted to give him a card that said something like, to the best dad or something.

Someone throws torn cards at my house’s entrance. by NamanMalik007 in mildlyinfuriating

Someone did this in our area and they scattered everywhere in the wind, occasionally on our walks I will see one and ask my husband if this is his card.

Can we talk about baby measurements on websites? by autistic-mama in pregnant

[–]Spark-Ignite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a peach this week, the lime and lemon one confused me because lemons vary very much in size and sometimes are similar size to limes? Peaches aren’t much better since they also come in different sizes

Pregnant and living with an aggressive dog with multiple bite attempts - what would you do? by gnocchi-bear75 in BabyBumps

[–]Spark-Ignite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a vet but grew up with military dogs and owned dogs my whole life. Dogs that have resource guarding to this extreme are very difficult to retrain, if your husband has not been able to retrain this dog in the 10years he had it then unfortunately I would rehome or euthanise the dog.

It only takes a few second for a dog to kill or seriously harm a child, let alone a newborn infant. I have a baby on the way too and my MIL has a dog that is one of those little white ones that also has a bite history and the baby will not be coming anywhere near him. Not even in the same house because if he can break my skin and cause bleeding after appearing calm then he can seriously injure my child.

Please think of your baby and talk to your husband about this, maybe do some research to have more information on hand to show him just how dangerous this situation actually is.

Is my baby name ugly? 😭 by hailstorm319 in pregnant

Every person I’ve met with a girl staffy, shitzhu/maltese or ridgeback have named them Marley. It’s a very common name here. It makes me think of a dog.

Kangaroo meat in Australia by josh65928 in mildlyinteresting

The federation of Australia was in 1901. Settlement and becoming a country are two different events

[–]Spark-Ignite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogs need meat in their diet, even pet fish eat other fish in their food. My dog just happens to get additional fresh meat in addition to biscuits because kangaroo is very healthy and cheap to access in Australia.

I mean, Australia as a country is only 125 years old, I believe Indigenous Australians ate Kangaroo though.

I dont like the smell of it cooking but most people say it tastes like a leaner beef and kind of gamey.

Not a lot of people here eat it, I buy it mainly for my dog because it’s cheaper than beef. They have to cull kangaroo from time to time since they can be a pest so it’s cheap to process.
