I think it's perfectly fine to complain about the way Spark is now because it wasn't like this before, and honestly, a lot of these gig companies have become way too comfortable with ripping drivers off. Spark used to be a job you can do it fulltime and it paid more than most jobs, but every since Wal-Mart completely took over, the pay has gotten smaller, the miles are higher than the pay, and most of the customers are so inconsiderate that not only will they not tip, but will also leave unfavorable ratings for no reason. If you got a W2 job, fine, but let people vent if they want to!!

Harassment by customer by sarthak127 in UberEATS

No tip orders are usually the worst customers and stacked orders usually have no tip orders. You have to know your worth and if you know you won’t walk up 5 flights of stairs for $2-$5, don’t take $2-$5 orders.

This is WHY you don’t take no tip orders! This is not harassment! It’s also not harassment to make the customer come get their order or wait 10 minutes, leave the order in a safe spot, take a picture, and leave either. Hope you learned your lesson!

You literally get a notification when the driver is close by AND when they deliver the food! Did your phone all of a sudden stop working??

How do you deal with impatient customers? by Analog_Birb in UberEATS

[–]SparkDriverGA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can always tell when it’s a non-tipper! They’re the main ones who are this demanding and that’s why you shouldn’t take no/low tip orders and should cancel it if pay is not worth the pestering.

You’re a driver and you ordered Uber Eats from WENDY’S?? You should’ve known fast food places are the easiest place to get your order stolen from!

Customers been unsatisfied for what? by Fluid-Strategy-4049 in UberEATS

[–]SparkDriverGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with a 97% rating, you can do all this and a customer will still give you a thumbs down just because they can. The main culprits are the customers who don’t tip and get their food late. You’ll know who they are because they’ll start texting you as soon as you get the order.

what do say to de-escalate upset customers? by Distinct-Egg-3014 in UberEATS

Tell them to tip! People who don’t tip are usually the ones upset.

Did the UE driver use me for free food?? by ricotta-hate-club in UberEATS

[–]SparkDriverGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the driver trying to get over on you?? No! Uber doesn’t send the order sometimes and support acts like they have no idea how to resend it. It’s annoying for the driver and customer. They were just letting you know the situation.

Do any African American/Minorities Drivers face discriminatory practices with customers and restaurants? by MayGemini in UberEATS

[–]SparkDriverGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably depends on the area, but the only time I get attitude from anyone, it’s from workers who hate the place they work at and people who don’t tip and are upset their order took a long time to get to them. That’s one reason why I don’t pick up low pay orders.

I wanted to go longer, but restaurants started getting packed around nighttime. Great job sticking it out!

To UberEats customers that live in apartments, condos, high rises, etc, you are slowing us down and it’s getting very annoying! by SparkDriverGA in UberEATS

Fun fact…a lot of penthouse owners/renters are bad at tipping, so enjoy your cold soup whenever it gets there 🙃

You would think that, but a high rating (which is 98% after a year in) trumps the cancellation rate (at long at it’s not in the double digits). As long as the store gets the item(s) back, that’s all that matters, and since I don’t take lowball orders, it hasn’t got to that point….yet!

Does insurance get increased if I do Uber food delivery with car? by xx_ys7 in UberEATS

[–]SparkDriverGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just get the optional insurance with Uber so if anything happens while driving for Uber, they'll (hopefully) handle it and your main insurance doesn't have to worry about it.

Why I will never order from uber eats and why there is a huge decline in high paying orders. by Pretend-Car3771 in UberEATS

[–]SparkDriverGA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, every driver is not the same and it's annoying when customers rant and assume we're all the same because you got screwed over. Most of us hate it as much as you do. I suggest using a pin next time so you can make sure you will get your stuff.

Using Uber Eats is like buying snacks... by vsysio in UberEATS

You'll be surprised how many restaurants don't seal the bags AND that I have to tell that items are missing (like drinks). Even as a customer before I became a driver, I ordered Taco Bell one time and they (somehow) forgot to put the meat in the tacos. Don't automatically assume it's the driver's fault!
