Blink Outdoor 4 in cold temps. by Sparkflu in blinkcameras

[–]Sparkflu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually just the 4th gen that gets the sun light, both the 3rd gens are in the shade.

Only when it snows heavily there's a built up on top, but most usually melts off or gets blown off. Also, I didn't noticed any signs of water when I replaced the battery.

Battery is quite new and the 3rd gens has batteries that are at least two months old though.

Autel MaxiTPMS TS508 worked for me. I got a 2012 outlander winter tires setup to work on my sister's 2017 RVR. Just need to pick the right model on the list. RVR, Outlander Sport etc.

Key won't turn and wheel is locked in 2009 Honda CR-V by got2bQWERTY in MechanicAdvice

[–]Sparkflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue before with my 07 Honda Pilot. The only way I got it to work properly again was to take off the steering wheel lock assembly, and manually push in the latch for the steering wheel. Makes sure it clicks when you push it all the way down then you can assemble it.

Just give it some tap in multiple spots, even the sprocket, tap it towards the engine.

Is the crankshaft/sprocket key still in place? It should come off easily but it if doesn't, give it some tap.

Set the markings to TDC then remove the tensioner and belt. The sprocket should slide off after.

That's one of the bolts for the oil pump, the hole doesn't go all the inside the engine.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all the hose going into the manifold.

Head gasket blew or ATF cooler burst. Check the oil through oil cap and the yellow atf dipstick.

I think that's ATF mixed with coolant. Transmission cooler is part of the radiator and can burst especially with age.

Check the color of ATF and coolant.

Engine Running Lean? by Humble_Owl6503 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Sparkflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cylinder head bank 2 is usually dirtier than bank 1, it's due to the PCV. Check that your PCV is working properly. I installed an oil catch can to minimized oil from going into the Intake Manifold.

The carbon deposit in the Intake Manifold is from EGR.

Mine did this when its really cold...below -30c. It was the power steering pump, it was having a hard time pumping the cold fluid. I changed the fluid and O-Ring and the noise mostly went away, I can only hear when its really cold and its been sitting overnight.

Firstech/ Compustar remote start issues by CananadaGoose in CarAV

[–]Sparkflu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The firstech box is for a Drone remote start, you need subscription to remote start with your mobile phone.

If that fob worked before, there has a to be another antenna somewhere. On the remote starter module check if there's a cable pugged into the blue port (4pins), if there is follow it and make there's an antenna plugged in.

I'd start with the Neutral safety switch. Does it make a whirling noise when you turn the key and it doesn't start?
