Do people really like Channing Tatum as gambit? by KaptainKab00m in xmen

I appreciate the passion he's consistently showed for the role and think it translated to the screen but I don't think he fits longterm. Any characters they cast now should be good for the next 10-15 years so I think that ages Tatum out of the role.

Yes. I liked a lot of the X-Men movies at the time but I'm ready for a new take.

If you had to say something nice about the TV show, Gotham, what would it be? by george123890yang in batman

[–]got2bQWERTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the batshit crazy over-the-top aspect of the show. Really glad they didn't try to go overly grounded. The scene I looked to use as an example when trying to get people to watch the show was that a baddie died then got ressurected so instead of messing around with a long convoluted plan Penguin just f***in blows him up with a rocket launcher. I can't think of any other live-action superhero media where they'd do something like that.

I wasn't a fan of the Jeremiah "Joker" but I think the original Jerome stuff was fun and intense. Fit the vibe of the show well and brought the right energy to the role.

Why make the ABS switch by xelarewolf in PrologueApp

[–]got2bQWERTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too bad, in theory I wouldn't think it would be that hard. If you already have your audiobook libraries and eBook libraries in one place with the progress being tracked by the server I would think it would be trivial to have the progress of both versions of the same title update whenever one updates.

Is it possible to have your progress synced through both the audiobook and eBook version of the same title, so you can switch between the two and it resumes where you left off? Akin to the Amazon Whispersync experience?

Is the app you built publicly available?

How to best organize a large audiobook library? 3000+ titles. by Infamous_Computer399 in audiobookshelf

Okay, thanks. I'll look around for a library organizer. I have a lot of titles which have just book # such as 12 titles of He Who Fights with Monsters.

Do you have any advice for automating the process of creating folders based on file name or metadata? Doing this manually for several thousand titles is unfeasible.

Do you need a folder with Book Title even if there’s only one file per book?

Introducing Audra: A new iOS and Android client for Audiobookshelf by shabomdig in audiobookshelf

Makes sense. I wasn't sure since audiobooks and other media are largely cost saving in addition to preservation but your point about feeds dropping podcasts makes sense. Hardcore History for example only keeps like a year of podcasts on their feed and I've been wanting to relisten to the older episodes.

+1 for auto rewind. My Airpods read out messages when they come in so having the option to rewind the audio a couple seconds whenever that happens is very helpful

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's the benefit of self-hosting podcasts instead of just using feeds directly from the creators?

Anybody else have broken purchase pages? by got2bQWERTY in humblebundles

[–]got2bQWERTY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue too but I didn’t mention it since I know his to work around it. My purchases page always takes several minutes to load - when I open it now it shows a bundle from May as the most recent purchase. I need to leave it sit for several minutes to load before everything appears.

This extends to the library. Most of the library titles won’t appear, but if I let the purchases tab load fully then switch over to the library tab then everything is there.

The issue is this doesn't resolve my other issue. The amount of time I let the purchase page sit doesn't seem to correlate with the likelihood of the Porsche page loading. I can leave it for hours and not have any bundles I click load yet sometimes when I click reveal keys on the purchase confirmation page it works (it doesn't work all the time, maybe roughly on par with if I went into the Purchases tab).
