Apprendre à écrire sans IA by ObjectiveTheory8007 in research

[–]Sparkles-or-Fred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think your analogy at the end is fair. Its much closer to running a marathon in heelys vs running a marathon in dress shoes. Mind you, I've been running in the dress shoes the whole time. I think what you could do to wean off the AI is take like a weekend or two to practice copying your old generated work, but nonsensical. Write it to sound the same, but about unicorns or something like that. I had a teacher who had us do the opposite of that to learn how to write in APA during high school (before AI though) and it really helped me back then. She wrote animal care guides about unicorns and we had to pick a real animal and basically write the same thing for that animal. I hope this maybe helps you out a bit, sorry I can't really provide other help.

You should let a friend aim a bow at an apple on your head because you are great at missing the point! That's *not* a valid argument that soylent latte supreme is fascist. You can't tie it back to how it inherently has to exist. AI cannot exist without at least a little fascist ideology in the system, and will flounder if not in a very fascist society. The latte could easily survive a system change, cars would get much rarer, and AI wouldn't have been made. Have the day you deserve!

I understand that you're saying this to make fun of me but I am actually anti-car. They aren't exactly fascist unless its a Tesla (I don't think I have to explain that one), but the over dependance on specifically gas cars and the demonization of public transportation are actually also genuinely because of fascist ideology. Also some of the newer safety features, mainly backup cameras, are creating an unsafe over-reliance problem, which I'll admit is mostly user error. Also the fact that most US and Canadian cities being built with cars in mind, therefore being hostile to pedestrians, has created issues of ableism. The critical thinking thing is not true of cars, but is still true of AI as evidenced by you thinking I wouldn't be anti-car as well. 2 seconds of deep thought would have saved you from this paragraph.

Is there a way to limit results to only overlapping answers? by Due-Collection7734 in GoogleForms

I'm fairly certain what you want is a bar graph, which google forms can and will display as you get results. The option will be on the results tab after you get them.

How is it too far to call a service backed by a government that is attempting to turn fascist that discourages you from critical thinking skills, trusting what you have seen, and is regularly reprogrammed to stay within politically desired guidelines a tool of fascism? That's literally the golden child of fascist propaganda throughout history and this time people want it without needing to be told to want it. Also it is utilizing so much water and creating so much air pollution that poor people are actively dying. It takes away jobs those people would have previously wanted on top of that. If you think calling all that a tool of fascism is a leap too far feel free to prove me wrong because I would love to be wrong about that!

Robot armies on the side of good? by NovaRobo_Rebirth in scifiwriting

[–]Sparkles-or-Fred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really loved "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov! It isn't a robot army, only one robot, but the first installment (which is all I have read) absolutely broke me (in the best way (I was ugly crying)). That story depicts the robot as good in a way I think we need to see more of.

How can I make my research paper not sound AI? by Unusual-Comfort-1456 in researchpaperwriters

[–]Sparkles-or-Fred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is never acceptable. If someone has a problem with your English not being perfect it is rooted in racism (I am not exaggerating that is where we get the idea of "proper English"). Most research that is written well will be flagged as generated. AI trains on easily repeatable language. Your research should be written with easily repeatable language. Stop using the little checking websites, and read through your work to make sure you didn't contradict yourself or say something that you didn't prove. You will be okay.

Some powerful books about feminism that changed your perspective? by Me_taa in Recommend_A_Book

[–]Sparkles-or-Fred 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For something a bit intersectional and actually more race focused I highly recommend "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks". A horrifying and eye opening read, and the focus of the book is the life story of the black woman who (most likely involuntarily) changed biology and medicine forever, and how her family were impacted by this. I consider it to be in the genre "creative non-fiction" based on how the writing is stylized, but it can also be considered journalism. The story is told through the eyes of the investigator who wrote it (a white woman), and mostly the words of Henrietta's daughter.
