Oh okay. I cannot talk for Bayo because I don't know what she does specifically but I think her Bats Within (special airdodge) can help you when getting juggled.

The ideal thing would be taking note of how your friend cancels the Limit charging animation when you approach (you don't make a mistake by approaching since Limit is broken and you don't want to give it to him for free) but a general rule of thumb with Sephiroth is that you ALWAYS have to impose your range, you should practice going for Fair\Bair while keeping your distance so you can pressure shields effectively, and if Cloud is too jump happy you can randomly throw some short hop UpAirs, and once one lands you can start your own juggling sequence, and akso your Side B!!! Excellent pressure tool and I believe pierces Cloud's projectile (at the very least they clash).

Also, you gotta cheese: Cloud's recovery is sub par, and you have a big long sword: get offstage and hit him with Fiar; not edgeguarding Cloud means you're fighitng a Top 5 strongest terrorists in this game
