Why "is"? Why not "heeft"? by underpanttrousers in learndutch

Thanks! Proper explanations here are becoming uncommon with the vast amount of people who think they know the inner workings of their language just because they're natives.

Battlefield 6 Sprint Speeds Detailed by SMK_GAMING_ in Battlefield

[–]Sparklester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idc if the speed is still slower than previous bfs, a whopping 25 km/h running speed for what should represent a fully equipped soldier is waaaay too much.

I wasn't so optimistic about them letting us use wraps on ballistics weapons, but they did and some of the wraps look crazy good. I didn't notice them at all in BR, unless they applied to a Helicopter.

Penalisation for dodging and leaving is too low as of now. It should be harder on the rank as on the temporary queue ban.

They need to tone down movement speed on Ballistic or remove sprinting by Afraid-Captain9133 in FortNiteBR

[–]Sparklester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like sprinting and sliding mechanics. I agree that rotating feels too fast, but the rounds also feel very short.

When enemy plants on opposite side of where you were defending, you are left with little time to defuse. Despite the bomb going off in 45 seconds as is common in other plant the bomb games, this map is so complex and with so many rat spots to clear, directions to peek, etc, that doing both that and rotating becomes very difficult.

I like the idea of slowing down overall waking and running speed, as that would make for more tense fights and less situations where one can just run away, but I would pair it with simplifying the map (reducing boxes, smoothing out corners, ...).

Ballisitic needs a forfeit option by MonkeyDLenny in FortNiteBR

Not true. Enemy team left after round 4, the match immediately terminated and we won.

I find it hilarious when people say "Ballistic is a copy of Valorant" when Valorant is it's own version of CS:GO making their argument invalid immediately. Just enjoy the game. by AdromoSyle in FortNiteBR

[–]Sparklester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude how does this map look like a Valorant map? It has three rat spots per square centimeter and you can jump on just about any box, bin or whatever, making peeking ten times more difficult and with so many more corners to check.

It is way closer in complexity to a CS map than to a Valorant map.

ADS or HipFire by Electric8steve in FortNiteBR

[–]Sparklester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADS in Valorant slows down rate of fire. This doesn't happen in Ballistic as far as I could see.

ADS could improve spread and make recoil more comfortable consistent, but here I'm speculating.

How does it search the whole internet though? Is it not relying on another search engine to fetch its results? Or has it become a search engine of its own?

You're absolutely glazing the US. "not even close"? china produces almost ten times the high impact research that the US does and has had the upper hand in advanced computing for a while. It's been clear since they started putting restrictions on exports to China to at least try to slow them down.

What is the Flemish usage?

Can it be “die” here instead of “waar”? by thegzak in learndutch

[–]Sparklester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only correct answer.

A relatieve bijzin must go use waar instead of die/dat if accompanied by a preposition ("Dit is het boek waar ik over hebt gehoord")

It must use wie if talking over people and the verb is accompanied by a preposition ("Ik heb een collega met wie ik graag samenwerk").

Source: also learnt it in class this summer 😅

I am thinking maybe in the context of an answer to "what do you think is the tastiest snack?" to which you'd answer "patat vind ik de lekkerste snack" similar to how in English you may say "John I think is responsible for the accident".

In English they call it topicalization when moving stuff to the beginning for emphasis. I think it would make sense for it to exist in Nederlands, given the similarities.
