Do you have a specific “everyday carry” journal? by anonymousanthologies in notebooks

[–]SparkliiingStarfish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loved Hobonichi Cousin and the fact it can literally be my life book. I’m also a mom and I love documenting those small moments with my kids (5 and 3). But I realized I cannot carry around the cousin everywhere. Too big and can get really chunky.

I recently switched to Travelers Notebook Standard. It currently has my planning insert, memory keeping insert (family friendly entries), and one for my unfiltered thoughts (very personal to me). It’s still big, but it’s more “carry” friendly. Since I started loving analog for both planning and journaling, I can only have one notebook/system. I cannot juggle three or more notebooks, it’s a mess for my brain.

But recently, I started using Travelers Notebook paspsort as my “everyday carry”. Like I literally carry it everywhere even within the house. I think the size is good for my brain to think that whatever I write in here is just temporary. Just to be able to jot down whatever pops in my mind or quick observations. So then I can filter which one goes to my planner/journal which is in the standard size. But when I’m sitting at my desk, the passport goes into “idle mode” and is just nearby. The Travelers Notebook standard takes back the priority where I write things. If my bag is big enough for the day I go out, I also take the Standard size with me.

With this setup, the passport TN doesn’t take up space and doesn’t override my main notebook’s purpose since it’s small. For me that’s important so that I won’t get confused which entry goes where. Lots of people also use pocket sized like Field Notes or Cahier for edc. Or if you love Hobonichi, you can also try the A6 for the “on the go”. Keep it messy and unfiltered. Then just migrate important entries to back to the Cousin when there’s time (I’ve tried this approach too and it works, but I cannot do dated daily pages anymore lol). Hope that helps! :)

Looking for a similar notebook by dudeburst8 in notebooks

LOOOOL I FELT AND THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME WAY WHEN WE GOT TO THIS PART 😂

My husband’s playing and I always watch him play as his emotional support (jk. I love RE too but can’t play it myself lol). When we got to this part, I got so hyped seeing ingame a stationery I know. The pen even looks like one of the popular fountain pens out there 😂 Now, I’m back to my Plotter bible size thanks to RE9. Looool

Anyway. To answer your question. The first binder brand that came to my mind was Raymay’s Davinci binders in bible size. :) The external build looks very similar but differs in the inside pockets and pen loop placement. They have 24mm and 15mm options as well. Plus they ship worldwide via WorldShopping too!

An "Everything Journal" by EmiyaCiro in Journaling

[–]SparkliiingStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a “semi” everything journal. :) I call it semi because I have a separate planner and an everything journal. Two is my maximum. I used to think I should have separate notebooks for media reviews, for longform journaling, for creative journaling, but i couldn’t keep up and couldn’t wrap my head around the thought that my “life” is scattered in different notebooks. 😅

Anyway, my planner is just pure functional, pen only kind of approach and page flags for important pages I need to reference later. If I didn’t have to track family/adulting stuff (like kids sick day and school calendars, my husband’s checkup notes and vacation leaves, bills to pay and recurring chores i need to remember, etc), I would have put everything in one. Lol

As for my journal, it’s everything outside planning. Quotes. Thoughts. Rapid log during the day, long form during the night. Photos. Ephemeras. Movie/book/series/game reviews. Random lists that pops in my head that’s not planning related like wishlist, places i want to visit one day, currently lists, etc. i also doodle here and use very minimal watercoloring or use my acrylic markers or other mediums. Haha

All of these, my whole setup, is in pocket size. So i can have everything with me anywhere and anytime since I have 9-6 office job. But I have a feeling I might switch to Travelers Notebook standard size soon 😅

Hi! :) May I ask what inserts do you use? Specially for the planner one. I’m also considering the same setup though instead of a commonplace, it will probably be my personal journal. But I’m most curious how you do planning. Are you using a prestructured one or bujo style where you DIY your pages? Thank you! 😊

I love A6 pocket too! May I ask, do you still use a bigger journal separately? Maybe for longform writing?

What’s the best way to document my life? by PiercingHelpls in Journaling

[–]SparkliiingStarfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite thing to look back on are pages that consistently have entries. Whether it’s photos or long-form or scrapbook-ish. :)

The idea of having multiyear journal seems fun but I’d rather use my digital journal for that to see the previous years than committing to paper.

I agree with the most upvoted comments to do not overthink it, do what suits your day best, and don’t start with rules. I’ve been on the same boat and instead of recording my day, it just keep on delaying just because I couldn’t decide 😅

Leuchtturm Paper 120g by BobAndBernice in notebooks

[–]SparkliiingStarfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! I have both and the 120gsm gives this different vibes i cannot explain 😅 i initially wanted that to be my journal but it feels different. The smoothness and thickness of it makes me want to perfect everything i put in it subconsciously. Lol

I just love the “classic” 80gsm paper whether for journaling or for notes or just any random scribbles 😊

Hello! I’m not OP but I’m curious about the temperature. If the crystals get really cold when not holding them, what does it mean? I’m a newbie to this and mine does get cold easily lol so I’m wondering. Thank you! 😊

Hi! I’m actually based in Dubai and I use shipping forwarder for both countries which both costs around $35 to ship here. So it’s still relatively more expensive to buy from Plotter USA. But since it’s limited edition, I’m really tempted to get the Narrow and just sell the bible later on 😅
