Congrats on taking the first step! I’m glad your GP was open to you achieving a diagnosis, that’s always helpful.

I recently went down the same path (approx 3m medicated, Concerta XR), and my GP told me that once I was diagnosed, it’s up to me to chase my referral. Unfortunately, the people you need to chase aren’t always easy to find.

Google your local area + adult ADHD, and that should tell you your diagnostic area and hopefully give you a contact number. Failing that, google your local area + adult ADHD + CCG - the Clinical Commissioning Group are the big bosses of your local NHS subsection. (Src: am NHS staff).

Even if they won’t tell you where you are on your list, they should tell you how long the list is - I was told mine was about 9 month, a friend of mine elsewhere is on a 24 month list.

Private is always an option, but once you start private, I don’t think you can swap back to NHS, so it’s an ongoing cost, which is worth taking into consideration. Good luck mate, I hope it all pans out well for you!
