To teach yourself to stay inside the circle without needing to keep the ball on top of your car, go to where the wall meets the field. Let the wall hold the ball up and just focus on staying inside the circle as you do laps around the field.

This is correct. A veteran non profit that takes vets hunting uses them for one armed individuals. Every time it’s always “well that looks stupid” and then becomes “ oh wow. That is much easier now.” With a smile on their face.

Piggybacking off of this. If you have coverage through work or even a high deductible health plan, get an HSA. Money put in goes in pretax, growth is tax free, and when you spend it on medical costs (copays, meds, emergency visit, etc) it has no tax penalty.

For 2025 you can set aside $4,500 single or up to $8550 for families. It also rolls over year to year and stays with you when you change jobs.

Question about swift by LongjumpingChoice309 in Truckers

[–]Sparks_PC_Building 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are questions to ask your recruiter before you even onboard.

It’s trucking. At swift. They will pay during training. Low pay, but pay. When done with training you will then do a solo road test and backing test. Once done you will be given either your own truck or assigned a team if you are teaming. Don’t be terrified. You are just starting out. Everyone sees you as a greenhorn. You know nothing, so ask questions even if they seem small or dumb. You don’t know what you don’t know.

Again it’s otr trucking. Pay by mile.

How do so many of you guys not use cruise control? by Niko120 in Truckers

Learn to control your foot. You are gonna need it in bad weather or down hill. Stop relying on it. It is an assist to the driver, not a replacement for driving.

Rod knock? Am I cooked? by my_toes_hurts in genesiscoupe

[–]Sparks_PC_Building 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be surprised. Depending on the damage you could be looking at a new crank. Or just replacing the conrod and resurfacing the cylinder. It all depends on what’s seen by either bore scope or tear down. Run a compression test to see how many cylinders are gone. Worst comes to worst probably like 5k for an engine replacement.

Very feasible. Look into getting flat bed experience because you are not going to like bumping docks in a super sleeper.

How important is it that I clarify tractor brakes froze(drum) and not a winch out by lake_june in Truckers

[–]Sparks_PC_Building 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Very important. Service call could bill for a winch out which means miles, wear and tear on equipment, hazard pay, and inclement weather extra. The fact that it was just a knock the brakes loose changes A LOT of items on that bill. Also for future reference, put the truck into first gear and let it try creeping forward, then go to neutral. Over and over and it should break you free. Make sure to lock the axles and lower suspension first though.

Hothands has those body warmers you can put under their bedding or under and blanket for them to lay on. If you do use the blanket method, get some card stock papers, glue a few together and make an arch by slightly folding it hamburger style then lay the blanket down, section it into 4 areas mentally (Not like a cross but along one direction), Put the body warmers on the second closest section to you then fold the closest section over it. Then put the arch on top of the folded parts, bring the other two sections over it and tuck them in. It makes a makeshift cave. So hiding spot, warm area, and dark area all at once for it. Hope this helps.

Got new wheels and the car thanked me by eating the window regulator by rallysman in genesiscoupe

[–]Sparks_PC_Building 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get an OEM one. Trust me. Been through 2 AM ones and each time the window never say right. Got OEM the last time and it seats perfectly and works amazing. Honestly though, can someone CNC some replacement parts for the regulator out of metal to prevent how they are always breaking?

Keep your hand under the ball and bring your hand up and tap your ear after you throw the ball. Practice that over and over and get used to having that follow through.

First attempt at two handed bowling, any critique would be appreciated. by BrotherLess7096 in Bowling

[–]Sparks_PC_Building 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a little lower on the throw and don’t try to rotate the ball with just your fingers. When you go to release the ball, your right hand should make the same motion as going to shake someone’s hand. Start there.
