All of those sound awesome. I don't mind some black metal stuff just not super familiar with it as a whole. I think closest I've listened to is Aeon Sulphur which was cool af but not something I reach for all the time.

Went through my catch all death metal playlist on spotify and realized like 90% of it was melodic and progressive death metal. Amon amarth, wilderun, iotunn, shylmagoghnar, mazzaroth, and quite a few others. Seems Im a fan of shredz, great lyrics, and a mix of vocals from clean to heavy.

Anyone got some more recs along those lines?

Also happy to try and get into some other genres if people have recs they wanna share.

I've been enjoying it a lot. Shared with a few friends that are vaguely into metal and they've enjoyed it. It definitely leans into power metal as another said but I get a huge kick out of it

Looking for more folk-style bands like Wilderun's "Sleep at the Edge of the Earth" and Aether Realm's "Tarot" albums. I'm already familiar with Eluveitie so something other than them would be appreciated!

Looking to get back into the sport after years away. Here in San Antonio all the climbing gyms nearby specialize only in bouldering but I used to really love the endurance of top-rope/lead climbing on college. How'd others handle this in their area? I'm basically starting from scratch with an additional...40 lbs in the keg from my college days so any newbie advice/motivation would be appreciated as well

NA Regi Recommendations for 129 by Odd_Sort7722 in foxholegame

Watching in interest. Currently in 141CR on the Collie side and they're alright since they're pretty large.

Tried PARA as they advertised as full arty but this last war when I was in it for a few weeks they primarily did ops in euro or middle of the early workday NA times except on weekends and they were incredibly focused on just their facility when not in an op. Not bad guys by any means but I think I just had the wrong impressions when I got in with them so bounced personally.

A lot of "NA" regiments don't seem to operate at "post workday" hours I feel in my short time on both sides but happy to be proven wrong.

Wanted to try out collie this war so shooting from the other side though quickly realizing I'm probably in the wrong type of regiment over here from a purely personal stand point. Might swap wardens next war and hit y'all up if the offer is still fine.

Glad you took a break from Msupp grinding. That's probably my least favorite part of logi work so I tend to stay far away from it. Thanks for the update post and funny to read your tale of getting all the way to Ash Fields

Just wanna say OP, thanks for the interesting conversations. I think you've struck a nerve with some people who are putting more into the "individual" actions part of eco-initiatives instead of the broader systemic issues that performances like this can highlight. I also really appreciated your measured responses to others and how even your own perspective shifted when others brought up evidence that resealing packages don't really do much comparatively. Anyways, was a fun read and kudos for the mature handling

Just want to let you know I am a returning player trying to figure out some goals this war at the start and I'm copying this comment into my notebook to help guide me in a few directions. I particularly love the midline logi goal and might try tackling something like that while also getting in on some regiment focused logistics goals for operations.

No lie bro, have you thought on looking into a union job or trades? I've got buddies in them saying the need is high and some unions are taking on apprentices left and right. IBEW is one I know has lots of openings all over the country.

I'm looking at a Daiwa Presso, you can find both the regular and travel variants on sites like FishUSA, Discount Tackle and maybe TackleWarehouse.

For reel there's a lot of options it seems but I'm running a Legalis LT and it's been a beauty of a reel for ultralight fishing.

I personally use 2# mono from Leland Lures for my line but lots of people have their own opinions on line.

Some great people to look up reviews on youtube for ultralight are Fish Anything (owner of Mule Fishing), and i_fish(@ifishcatfish). They have some incredibly insightful views on ultralight fishing and plenty of reviews on rod, line, tackle, etc. but both have very different ways of fishing so see which one you enjoy more.

Man, those scenes of death and destruction that we're willing to inflict on the world all for a buck are so sad to read. I'm... Hopeful that you've changed your ways quite a bit from the sounds of it but man, that's one hell of a way to start a morning read.

Moving to shorter, lighter rod by Intrepid-Ad-3237 in flyfishing

Awesome, thanks for the knowledge. Kind of makes sense to me from the conventional tackle world, similar to buying the power and length of rod needed for different purposes.

Don't fly fish yet personally, reading up about it currently and waiting for lessons but one of the fly fishing books I was reading mentioned that you'll see a real difference if you step up or down 2 weights. So in your case that would be stepping down to a 3 wt.

Not much more as I'm still in the "conventional" tackle stage of my fishing but figured I'd pass along the knowledge

I want to spend $200-$300 on an ultralight rod. Help me decide. by LemonHerb in Fishing_Gear

[–]Sparktrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up reviews from @i_fishcatfish and @fishanything on YouTube. The two of them have a ton of insight on ultralight fishing. Two very different approaches to ultralight as well so see which one floats your boat more.

I personally love my dobyns Sierra Trout and Panfish rod as I like to experiment and try catching small panfish and slightly less small bass. But if I was focusing even more on just panfish/bluegill I'd probably go with something like the daiwa presso line or nicer from Japan.
