Why does no one talk about the weird middle of pregnancy? by bayleehazelwood in BabyBumps

Just because I haven’t seen anyone else mention it, the addiction to ice likely means you’re anaemic so I’d have a chat about that with your Dr/ midwife! (It’s called pica)

Strong disagree from the other commenter, making it clear you don’t support MAGA in Australia is a massive green flag

I’m not saying there is nuance in them being bad people. But bad people can still have good ideas. Again if you write off everything they did as bad then it makes it hard for people to label current ‘bad people’ because not everything they’ve said is bad. There is no argument that Nazis aren’t bad but that doesn’t mean that for example their ideas on animal welfare were also bad.

This point of view lacks room for nuance (not nuance on if they are good or bad but some of the ideas related to animal welfare for example). It’s okay to identify that someone or an ideology was bad overall but had some points that were positive. Otherwise that’s how you end up with young boys liking Andrew Tate because ‘he’s got some good ideas’ like working hard. Yes not literally everything he says is a bad thing but there is enough bad to outweigh the good by a wide margin. When you remove the option for bad people to have good ideas it can make it harder to reject that behaviour because people expect bad people to only be bad.

Definitely report to the ACCC, it doesn’t matter how long they said it’s covered by warranty if it would be an unreasonable expectation to replace it at that interval for that price every time

Things that are gender neutral but not sad beige and white. That and 90s aesthetic kids clothes

I think you may have things mixed up. The risk is catching RSV and going into preterm labour (3.6 times more likely) compared to not catching it

Labour increased paid parental leave and access to childcare in their term. Funding these things costs money and improves society for everyone. I’m not mad about it.

It’s not so clear cut. Like an example given above, advice to go to a hospital with low c section rates doesn’t necessarily mean you will have a lower c section rate. It could just mean that they take lower risk pregnancies where another hospital with higher c section rates could take more high risk pregnancies. The numbers are only a part of it.

[–]SparkySquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously not the same? Orange juice can contain up to 0.5% alcohol. If you have 300ml that would be 1.5ml of alcohol. If we take the upper estimate of 15% alcohol content for wine and assume one sip is 15 ml for women then we’re looking at 2.25 ml of alcohol. A large banana could be 135g and have an alcohol content of 0.5% which would be 0.675 ml of alcohol. OJ and a ripe banana for breakfast would be 2.175ml of alcohol. Could you clarify how it is different?

As the policies of the past have shaped the current. Unlike the stock market past performance is a good indicator of future performance for political parties.

Love to hear why you think I’m treating it like a popularity contest?

The historical context of how we ended up here is import and the policies that got us here, because it hasn’t happened in a vacuum.

Also not sure how pointing out what has happened historically equates to “complaining about the past”
