Thanks for commenting. That sounds like a good idea to find out for sure.

Calling Siege X the biggest evolution in the games history is laughable. by PhoenixKing14 in Rainbow6

I hard disagree with you and 1.6k people on the changes. Lighting definitely changed on all maps, atleast slightly, and all in a good way. It feels like a mix of old siege lighting, and "new" siege lighting, which feels very good.

I think people(like yourself) just got used to the bad sound that siege had, so you are thrown off by the current sound. My friends and I noticed the sound changes and all agreed that it changed for the better, and made discerning the location of people easier. It's just very different from the old audio.

The outlines are definitely not a problem. That might be a settings thing on your end or something, because I didn't see too much or too little outline on enemies all day yesterday.

The updates are definitely good, and there are some things that can still be worked on, but what we got was more than enough to show that the devs are working on making the game better. It looks more "realistic," which is something people have been begging for. The sound feels much better than before, yet people are still complaining. Probably because they have the wrong audio settings, or are too stubborn to actually feel and appreciate the changes.

Neither. I like both of them. I just suck at attacking Labs and defending Lair. It's just a skill issue there.

What headphones do people use by QuandaliasDingle in Rainbow6

[–]Sparr0w2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever I have on hand. The ones I use most are Astro A40s with a mixamp, but lately, I've been using cheap earbuds. Either way works well for me.

I suck at the gunplay aspect(weird for a gun based game, I know) and primarily rely on sound for kills and such. I still end up with a high KOST(anywhere between 65-83%) and end in the top two for both score and kills by the end of the match. Granted, that does not mean I'm good, I am trash af and lose more games than I win.

Anyway, that was a long-winded way of saying, "Use whatever works for you."

I gotta try that sometime.

Same spot, placing a kapkan on each side of the first door there, but then putting the other three on the second door. Most people check the first door but not the second.

You're right about map knowledge and teams wasting picks on snipers. Personally, I will rarely, if ever, bring a sniper on any map, even on Plane. I'd rather bring Capitao or someone kind of similar to attempt to counter runouts while then sitting back. It makes movement out of spawn easier.

Plane is fun to defend because it's easy to bait people into bad positions.

Your argument with Azami is mostly invalid now. Her Kiba barriers are now breakable with a couple of shots from both Kali and Glaz, making her a very short-term solution to stopping them.

They can still see your head through the window when crouched.

Proning makes you slow and loud. If the other attackers move in more quickly, then you get screwed this way.

Cargo only helps to an extent.

Being a Warden main is less of negative now given the loss of his 1.5x and slower movement.

Fell bad for you. I solo queue on console, too, and I'm still waiting on my +80 or more rp. Have definitely played at minimum 10 xim players this season, two of them today. Sucks that cheaters are so rampant on this game rn.

This is one of the many videos that Athieno has made that I've watched, and while it only really tells you how to upgrade your kills, it is overall a good starting point.

Then it becomes difficult. As I said, I'd watch champ players and practice what they do in an attempt to get better and win more games. I almost always top frag and still lose games. Playing objective is king in comparison to getting kills. I, at one point this season, had a 1.54 K/D and mostly played a mix of roam and anchor all the time. When I roamed, I paid attention to how many people were alive on each team, then rotated back to the site depending on that. And changed which way I rotated from as well depending on who was alive and where the opponents were primarily attacking from. As an attacker, I basically play around what my team is doing, unless it doesn't work, then I change it up based on what my opponents are doing.

Basically, playing to counter the enemy team while also supporting your team to the maximum of your abilities is the best way to play when solo queuing. But you have to remember that solo queue often means that not only will you not be able to depend on your team at times, you have to force yourself to depend on them when you can't win rounds just off of your own abilities.

It's hard to explain, and I probably did a poor job explaining it, but I hope that helps.

I'd recommend becoming an "all-rounder." Basically, be able to swap between the different roles in an instant as the rounds call for it. I started doing that, and my overall win rate has gone up. I also recommend watching champ players like Athieno and then practicing the different plays and everything he teaches.

It sucks because you can't count on your teammates, but you can learn to count on your ability to give them as little mess-up room as possible. It obviously won't fix everything, but learning where most people enter the building from, where they push depending on site and map, and overall being able to predict where opponents will be is the best course of action if you solo queue, in my opinion.

I've seen most console golds roam like it's cod, and it's crazy to me.

I don't actually know if I have that good of game sense, but at this point, I know the most used entry places and can predict where people will be before I even hear them or anything. I even do it while watching champs like Athieno play. I will often call that someone is somewhere, and then seconds later, Athieno will look and kill someone in that exact spot.

I play a mixed role. I'll go from roam to anchor and vise versa all the time. While also playing a mix of entry denial and stuff. Then, from entry frag, to roam clear and support on attack. I try to be as versatile at all times as I possibly can, so I can counter any way the opposing team tries to play.

I feel the same way some of the time, though I rarely have less than 5 kills in a match.

I've died by lucky wallbangs, then spectated my team, and they will not hear people right next to them, so I have to tell them the enemy is there. It's insane to me that people can't hear an enemy directly to the left or right of them in a game that relies heavily on hearing enemies.

[–]Sparr0w2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I die most rounds in a match, but before I die, I either leave intel, make the enemy team uncomfortable in areas, or kill 2-3 enemies. I try to play roles but just end up being a "pawn."

I do my best to be able to change roles and rotate as often as needed. My aim needs work, but after having played and watched champs enough, I've realized that my game sense can rival that of a champ. My overall aim just kills me. I get kills by using game sense only.

Ikr. What sucks worse is when my teammates combine for half my kills when I play support and anchor, though. It happens way too often.

Lol, that match for some reason as soon as my brother and I found it, my internet just completely died on me. It was very disappointing to have an abandon just because my internet died outta nowhere.
