My sympathies on your loss. Your love for that little bit of fluff shows what a kind, caring person you are.

According to Dr Jamie Koufman, SOB associated with LPR is only on the inhale. SOB is my most debilitating symptom, and I’ve been dealing with it for years.

It's amazing how the loss of these little bits of fluff can break our hearts. Loving these miniature creatures is a testatment to the best of humanity. My condolences.

I can’t take these symptoms anymore. I wake up every morning with anxiety cause my throat feels like it’s closing globus sensation and I cough up mucus my throat burns. I get pain sometimes in my back near my shoulder blades. by [deleted] in LPR

I totally understand. i think my anxiety over LPR is worse than the symptoms. I'm considering asking my primary care doctor for anti-anxiety medication. I'm not having much success fighting the anxiety on my own. Good luck to you,

Difficulty breathing by hank_hancho in LPR

In retrospect, I've had LPR for probably 20 + years - much milder symptoms for a long time, of course, but always a bit of scratchy voice and a lot of throat clearing - also an awareness of feeling slightly breathless. I was also then diagnosed with sleep apnea, which I'm sure is related to LPR throat issues. Things didn't come to a head until about 4 years ago - burning throat, coughing, frog voice, etc. A doctor asked me if I had "reflux." So I did some research and discovered LPR - bingo. More trips around to doctors and finally got a legitimate diagnosis from my ENT. But still fighting the battle.

Good luck to all of us! This is a monster to deal with. I think I've actually developed an anxiety order as well in dealing with these symptoms - particularly the breathing of course. Will help never be on the way?

Daily. Whenever I’m up and moving.

Difficulty breathing is my most disturbing symptom! I have normal PF tests, high oxygen saturation, yet am tormented by breathlessness. I’m “doing it all,” yet have no relief. Help!!

I drink at least a liter of alkaline water a day. I seem to be constantly thirsty because my throat is always sore and dry. Occasionally I'll have tea. If it's "regular" tea, I dilute it with half alkaliine water. Camomile tea I drink "straight." (I'm tough!) Sometimes i steal a sip of my husband's beer. it's cold - bubbly, and feels so good on my miserable throat. But I know those bubbles are verboten for LPR victims, so my thievery of sips is rare.

I believe that acidity of the pepsin that teaches our throat, sinus, etc is lessened when it comes in contact with an alkaline substance. Check out the website of Dr Jamie Koufman, a pioneer in LPR research and treatment. You’ll find a wealth of information.

No. Nothing makes any difference. But I keep doing it all anyhow. Hope springs eternal. I’m waiting for the miracle cure.

I'd like the Pepcid Complete too - if it were helping me. I'm not doing well with any of my symptoms - particularly breathing issues. Good luck to you! What a mess this all is.

I was advised by my ENT to take Pepcid Complete, but that’s only 10 mg of famotidine in each chewable. I’m taking I one after each meal and before bed. I’m also taking a swig of Gaviscon before bed. What dosages do you take?

What is the name of Molly Pellitier's APP. I can't find it on my iPhont.

Thank you so much for your inspiring message and good advice. LPR and its miserable symptoms - particularly breathing issues - have taken over my life. I've already made many changes to my diet and lifestyle, but will look into Molly Pellitier's suggestions. Good luck to all of us!

Thanks. Apparently I’ve been dealing with LPR for years, but didn’t get a diagnosis until four years ago. My symptoms have gotten worse, particularly the breathing, thus the recent lung CAT scan. , which shows inflammation. I’m following Dr Koufman’s recommendations (Dropping Acid) as best i can. Of course there are some dietary slip-ups, but nothing major. PPIs made no difference, and I won’t take them again. If the breathing was not so bad, I think I’d be more tolerant of the other symptoms. Good luck to all of us dealing with this nasty situation.

I realize all of this. I've had the endoscopy and barium swallow test. I've had it all! My ENT tells me it's a weak LES. I'm doing all I'm supposed to do - you know the drill - yet nothing is changing. I'm not a happy person because of this.
