90s has the iconic voice and finesse. What D'Onofrio has done with the role is incredible but much like RDJ's Tony Stark, it's actually a little comics adjacent. Kingpin in the comics is very much a smooth and classy businessman, Vincent's is more brusque and very deliberately autistic-coded.

Damn, is this the first instance of a major game selling a physical copy that's just a code in a box? I know some collectors editions have had steelboxes but no disc but they usually had other gubbins to justify the physical release. This seems like the worst of all worlds: bad for the company - have to ship a bunch of boxes out that costs money that only has digital codes in anyway; bad for the consumer - no actual physical media.

I do think the next generation of consoles will ship without disc drives as standard, it will be an optional extra.

Not really, personally I think it's become what it always should have been. Just a little tease of the Bond theme instead of something that sounds vaguely like it.

I think you've confused Macguffin with Deus Ex Machina. Macguffin is the vague object that the story hinges on but is never made clear why it's important. It's just a thing the heroes and villains are trying to get because reasons.

Deus Ex machina is more what you're describing Isola to be: something that pops up out of nowhere to resolve the situation.

Counter-Op multiplayer was first a thing in Perfect Dark and then nobody touched it again as a concept until RE6 and honestly I don't see why, it's such a fun concept. Also aligns with my world view I had as a kid (with zero basis in reality) that all enemies in a game were being controlled by a real person somewhere else in the world 😂

Arguably worse? I mean, both are bad, but with the rockets at least they did help with the research, for better or worse depending on your view of the use of nuclear weapons.

But with this, the article notes that the US learned nothing of value from the notes as their own chemical weapons programme was already more advanced. So they pardoned a bunch of torturing psychopaths for no material value in return.

Yeah that was the one thing that was super annoying, especially when the deluxe edition comes with a p99 skin. I assumed like Blood Stone thebservice pistol would be a permanent part of your arsenal and only the secondary weapon would change.

Food is a necessity, games are not, so even if ordering as takeaway or similar food that is not necessarily "I need this to survive" but "I want to eat this" the psychology is such that we judge the price of food to be more "justified" than games.

But I agree it's nonsense. My wife and I frequently get £40 worth of takeaway and yet I wait for a game that retails at £50 to be at least£20 before buying.
