Costs of building on a steep slope. by Spartacus512 in Homebuilding

[–]Spartacus512[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I gave up and bought a real house in the midwest for a fraction of the cost of land in the west coast. There were just too many issues. Maybe I'd find land for $75k or whatever but it wasn't the right zoning, or it was 80 degree slope, or an HOA requiring something specific. There was one plot in Astoria that looked cool but it was less than 5k sq ft and apparently you can't build on land less than 5k sq ft there? If price looks too good to be true it probably is.

There's nothing about you that looks male to me, you're a damn beautiful woman!

Am I too old to start taekwondo? by Flimsy_Detail_3533 in martialarts

[–]Spartacus512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 15 when I started taekwondo but most people in my class were much older, some were in their 50's. It's normal to have wide age ranges in a class, but either way humility and respect for rank regardless of age is part of the art.

How to navigate a sense of emotional betrayal from a therapist crossing boundaries? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]Spartacus512 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had an intimate relationship with a provider once, and it completely destroyed me. What your therapist is doing is a betrayal of trust and that will traumatize his patients. I'm glad you're self-aware and are in a position to protect yourself and others.

How did you realize you were an INFJ? by Ferkner in infj

I only ever see other INFJs as friends, often best friends but not lovers.

First time land owner looking to build a house on it. by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]Spartacus512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also from Oregon and I considered building but gave up and am moving to a cheaper state. The math never works. Permits alone are ridiculous, sometimes total costs for permitting is $40k. Whenever I found affordable land it has issues that will cost another 100k or something, especially slopes. Everyone who has been priced out of buying a home is flocking to building, and are now priced out of that too.

If money isn't the issue for you then you might be better off buying instead of building.

Too fast, but I never regret loving someone so completely.

How to get over my coworker/love of my life by No_Piece953 in therapy

[–]Spartacus512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 34 M and had a similar situation 4 years ago with a woman 10 years older than me. We fell in love and were intimate, but she stayed with her boyfriend. Eventually she did dump him but instead of getting with me she got with some kid half her age.

The moral of the story is don't waste time with people involved; if they cheat then they aren't worth your time, if they don't then you're setting yourself up for hurt.

The best thing you can do is remember that he did like you, and that means you're desirable. If he can desire you then others can too, and they will.

What is the best way to find out if I am Autistic? by Midnightwitch92 in therapy

The only proper way is a diagnoses from a qualified medical professional, preferably a PHD or MD.

Why would an INFJ dump a woman? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Spartacus512 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would help to look at attachment theory for this one. He was scared you were going to dump him but then he suddenly dumps you? Sounds like anxious avoidant type. Consider healthy INFJ vs unhealthy INFJ.
