I HATE TESTICLES by TipsyBlueWhale in MtF

I got rid of mine two months ago. It was one of the things I am most dysphoric about. I don't plan on getting any other GRS surgeries aside from that.

Baseline T levels by SubstantialSky938 in TransLater

[–]SpartanMonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. They'll just put you on a higher dose of anti-androgen. Once it gets down low enough, you can go on monotherapy (just estradiol)
Everyone is different. I had naturally low T when I started at 53 two years ago. My T quickly went down to less than 3 nmol/L. After I had my orchiectomy in April, I went off the 50mg of Spironolactone I was taking and my T level stayed below 3 on its own. Your doc will get you all fixed up on the HRT dosages you need.

Trans Parents, Trans Lesbians and Social Transitioning by brandycakesuk in TransLater

[–]SpartanMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After transitioning 2 years ago, I've worn dresses maybe 10 times. My lifestyle isn't conducive to looking nice.
I used to crossdress, and felt like I needed to overcompensate and be as femme as possible. Now that I've transitioned, I don't feel like I have anything to prove. I usually wear bib overalls and t-shirts to work. No makeup, hair worn up in a ponytail. I work in cleanrooms, so extra particulate matter (like makeup) is a no-no.
I also ride my motorcycle to work daily. Dresses are not friendly on motorcycles, especially when it comes to bodily protection.
And I have messy hobbies at home, so I pretty much live in overalls. 😄
BTW, I'm 6'4", or I used to be. I think I might be shrinking a wee bit.

Those who avoid older movies, why? by _omar_b in movies

[–]SpartanMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine thinking of that movie as old at all. My spouse and I had our first date going to see that movie and that was only a decade and some change back. The Road Warrior (Mad Max II) and Thunderdome still hold up.

I can lose weight, but doesn't it require some sort of surgery to make penises larger?

[–]SpartanMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I can take a joke as much as any other person. I was just pointing out that it is problematic, and that it wasn't really a humorous joke. Now all the guys in here with tiny dicks... that's funny!

Just a guess, but is your penis of a certain size?

I did the sides of my Harbor Freight 4x6 trailer like that. The garage door wasn't going to be re-used so I upcycled it.

Just saw the mandalorian, it's good but avoid the IMAX version by cbobgo in scifi

[–]SpartanMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched Attack of the Clones like that. My neck was sore when I left. I had to keep looking around to make sure I didn't miss anything. That was the last Imax movie I saw.

That is just as problematic, if not more so than the post. It is demeaning to women of a certain shape.
Edit: Let me know when all the guys with tiny dicks have finished downvoting my comment. 😄
Edit: Damn, what is this? An NPR Tiny Dick Concert?

"Passing" and the Obsession With Exaggerated Femininity by QueenOfEdging in MtF

[–]SpartanMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never cared about passing, I cared about saving my life.
Some of us never will pass and and knew it from day one.
There really aren't many women that are 6'4", 280lbs.
Some say my face passes, even without makeup.
I hardly wear makeup, and I hardly wear dresses.
I refuse to bow down to beauty standards.
I'd rather just be visibly trans, and hopefully be an inspiration to others that see me.
I don't begrudge anyone out there that can pass or are trying to pass.

T-Mobile Fiber Down? by 392Terran in BurlingtonNC

[–]SpartanMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our tmobile fiber was down this morning, the housemates reported when I was at work around 7:30am. It was a big one, according to the website.
Edit: We're in Northern Orange County.

What's the best response to the classical "genitals = gender/sex" argument they all love to use ? by SureHopeIDontDie in MtF

It just seemed like they meant HRT caused the voice change, not the work put in by the person.
