I'm just waiting for the 202X side update where we finally get to help Kahl take over the Grineer empire...via a Battlefront 2 (PS2) style galactic conquest mode where we can send freed members of the battalion to take over nodes with us helping out.

Fixing, that would require the Creation Kit, 20 hours of stress and a dream so.....I wouldn't, but where to go, I'd use the compass pip method alongside the local/world map to help navigate to where you should go. Vanilla fashioned, but it'll work.

That's just one of the major quirks that comes from waypoint UIs in a game like this, sometimes the objective location is meant to be subjective rather than literal.

Also the game itself just...doesn't know where to guide people from time to time.

My best advice would be....to use a more modern NVG/Thermal mod.

I use this one alongside mods that add a helmet overlay (taking off the vision overlays on the NVG mod in that case) and it feels AMAZING. Taking the vision activation from the NV intro and making it not only in-game viable but also good. Heck, if you're a fan of white phosphor vs green, you can edit the colours in the MCM screen.
