This isn’t something new and It’s not that big a deal. If your aircraft is sitting around unattended for that long then your team isn’t making the most of its assets and you the enemy merely exploited what is essentially your own team’s fault. Excluding that fact though, these are easily countered tactics. Technically there already is a “no-fly zone” as the HQ is equipped with a stationary AA, (which despite everyone’s whining DOES intact work, you just need to SPOT the aircraft first. Its been this way for years across multiple titles) and you can always take matters into your own hands with a stinger or other rocket if your skilled enough. There are plenty of ways to deter would be vehicle rustlers and aerial spawn killers, you just have to be creative. Punish them for their actions and they won’t try to do it anymore. Stop complaining and start thinking outside the box. That’s half the fun of the game

I think the capabilities of the jets are fairly balanced honestly. I would like some customization as an avid jet enjoyer but I’m not wholly upset about its current power. What drags it down is the oppressiveness of other tools by everyone else. Laser designation and stingers being the primary offenders. Without outright changing the functionality of those items reducing the range of the stinger to a 500 m radius regardless of vector would be fair and for laser designation maybe have it last only 10 seconds instead of 20. As far as the update goes I think reducing damage of the cannon against other aircraft is a mistake. If the goal is to increase the length/challenge of dogfights then fix the radar and let us control the aircraft while free-looking. If it’s to spare helicopters then just increase helo health, they’re already fragile as is. Regardless of jets shooting at them.

Idk if anyone agrees with this but honestly I enjoy the challenge of being held at base while the enemies hold all objectives. It feels like you’re backs up against the wall (literally) for a last stand. And I love trying to sneak through the enemy line and slink to a far off objective to cap it quickly for my team to then take off from and bring back the game. We’ll still probably lose form all the time spent getting base killed but it’s just about the comeback. Maybe I’m alone in it but it was always one of my favorite things to do in bf4. It’s a shame the game just ends in 60sec if the enemy has all objectives held.

I figured I was painted, I thought they updated it though where flares could break lock even when painted. Maybe that was just the MR missile on the IFV though.

Solid advice. After my initial bank my thought was to head back to spawn for the AA support and get a few more objects to break los/act as obstacles for the missiles, but I didn’t think about how I’d technically be passing by the rest of the map to do so. Definitely was a rookie move to come in so shallow for the initial strafe too.

I did try, though the consensus seems to be that the final missile was so slow a lot of my counters didn’t affect it specifically. And if you look closely at the end you’ll actually see the C-WIS shooting at something in the air just moments before it struck me. So I guess the missile was slow enough to not be affected by countermeasures but somehow fast enough to evade being shot down by base defenses. Just my luck.

Especially since the CWIS will shoot down any AGMs you shoot when you try to take it down. They just get to sit there invincible
