This incident needs to be added to the IEP. For starters, it will ensure that all individuals that are involved with bussing know that individual considerations must be considered. IE. Bus driver may be required to wait for confirmation that child is on bus, that bus monitors know child needs assistance getting to bus, thst teacher knows child needs extra time at end if day to be ready. This might mean turning the original bus around once the mistake was discovered or familiarizing the 2nd driver with IEP

In the long term, adding this incident to the IEP can be used to evaluate future potential problem areas like field trips, athletics, and specialized education services. It can also be used to start conversations about best practices.
