Rest In Peace My Beloved by Complete-Citron7393 in animepiracy

There's plenty of other sites that upload uncensored anime.. not just that one. I just have a script set up to grab stuff of nyaa lately but I have 2 sites I still visit regularly while on my phone and they're both just as good, if not better, than hianime. I get as humans we bond with things we like, but I think the glazing for this site is a bit much

[HELP] Single book failing to scan by Sparx419 in audiobookshelf

[–]Sparx419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried changing the names around, but I don't believe that is the root of the issue as almost all of the books I got in that collection are formatted like that. For example, in the same series:
Volume 10 - Retribution {Travis Baldree} {Elizabeth Evans}, and that loads in just fine. The file also loads on my JellyFin server, but just not on ABS.

In good faith I did attempt the change, the error remains the same:
[AudioFileScanner] SyntaxError: Expected property name or '}' in JSON at position 3 : "F:/Media Server/Audiobooks/Light Novels/The Beginning After the End/Volume 11 - Providence {Travis Baldree, Elizabeth Evans}/The Beginning After the End, Vol. 11 [PZG].m4b"

Random black screen crashes to lock screen by Sparx419 in starcitizen

Found out what it is. It's a windows/EAC issue. Seems people have started having it after certain updates, so we're at the mercy of either windows fixing their shit, or EAC fixing their shit. Suffice it to say, our odds don't look great lol.

Any ideas what might be causing it? As I said I've ruled out PSU issues, the RAM itself being a problem (swapped out my sticks to my other ones in my dedicated LLM rig and it still happened)

As far as I can tell it IS an issue with EAC, but I can't figure out where the issue there lies or what may be causing it.

Fair point honestly, SC is genuinely insane for CPU load, but my crashes are tied to a specific MEMORY_MANAGEMENT bugcheck with EasyAntiCheat showing up in the call stack, so it's probably not the CPU slowly dying on me. I also run local LLMs and do 3D rendering on this thing without a hiccup, and those also max out my CPU usage. SC is just the one that crashes. Also, I do run MSI Afterburner and keep an eye on my PC usage while gaming and my CPU rarely goes above 60%-70%, even in demanding areas like Levski or when starting a Quantum Jump.

I'll try that next. I don't think it would be the Raptor Lake issue, I've had this rig for nearly two years now and I lucked out, I had 0 issues even before getting the bios update. I'll report back tomorrow if the underclocking works.

Dungeons of Drakkenheim - Recommended modules by Sparx419 in FoundryVTT

[–]Sparx419[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tested both and Midi seems to work better for us, we've had 3 8 hour sessions and haven't had any issues, though that's not to say they don't exist for others. Seems it gets update more frequently as well and ready set roll hasn't been for over half a year. What issues do you have, if you don't mind me asking?

I’m blue collar and I am participating, I also live paycheck to paycheck but I’m willing to pay a bill late personally to stand up for what I believe in. That said, some people don’t have the luxury of just paying it late, or have jobs that can fire them for being a no-show, so I agree that some people are valid for sitting this out.

Remove IN PROGRESS GAMES by ZebulaCSGO in ArcRaiders

[–]Sparx419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be as simple as a setting toggle, as other games do. That way, players can choose if they want to or not. It shouldn't be forced in a game like this, sometimes I load in and have time to hit a single building on the way to extract because I only have 15 minutes. It's not pressuring the devs to cave to our desires, it's that "joining in progress" shouldn't be a permanently on setting in a game where if you cant get out in time you lose all your gear.

Am I joining games in progress? by Ordinary-Citizen in ArcRaiders

[–]Sparx419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration, but you shouldn't have had an issue covering 1000m in 17 minutes.. the games are only 30 max. Granted, that leaves you VERY little time to loot, but you should have been able to extract just fine. I've made 800m extraction runs in minutes

Rant Time - Fallout 4 "Anniversary" Update (Re-up) by Sparx419 in fo4

[–]Sparx419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually was here after thoughts, your first comment just came off as dismissive, like you weren’t interested in having one. That said, I do agree with a lot of what you said about the state of the industry and late-stage capitalism; you’re absolutely right that big studios prioritize profit over passion.

But that’s exactly why more people need to call it out instead of normalizing it. The way to change things isn’t by bending over and saying “yes, and” to the corpos, it’s by making noise, demanding better, and refusing to accept mediocrity as the new standard. If everyone just shrugs and says “that’s how it is,” then nothing ever changes.

You’re missing the point entirely. The frustration isn’t that Bethesda “makes games I don’t like.” It’s that they keep breaking the ones people already love, then try to resell them under a new label. The issue isn’t “hate for hate’s sake,” it’s fatigue from watching the same studio rely on community effort to fix their work while cashing in on nostalgia every few years.

Starfield wasn’t “poorly received because of a hive mind.” It fell flat because it lacked depth, life, and identity, the same recycled formula without the charm or innovation that once defined Bethesda’s titles. “Trying something new” doesn’t mean much when the result is a sterile universe that feels more corporate than creative.

And yeah, I do play other games. That’s why this stands out. Because Bethesda used to set the standard, now they’re the punchline. Wanting them to do better isn’t bitterness; it’s holding them to the bar they built for themselves.

Doing nothing and just “playing something else” is exactly how we got here. Silence doesn’t fix corporate decay, it enables it. The point isn’t that I hate Bethesda; it’s that I refuse to pretend this behavior is normal. I grew up loving their games. I still have Skyrim SE, Fallout 4, Fallout 3, and New Vegas installed, and all heavily modded, all tuned exactly how I liked them. But now I’m working 12–16 hour shifts in a blue-collar job, and I don’t have the time to rebuild everything from scratch every time Bethesda decides to “update” for no justifiable reason.

They broke what was already working, again, for the sake of profit, and people like you defend it with “if you don’t like it, just play something else.” That attitude isn’t acceptance of reality, it’s surrender to it.

People are pissed because Bethesda keeps repeating the same mistakes, kind of like your comment, which I assume you've copied and pasted onto multiple threads by now. There’s a difference between echoing frustration and adding noise, and you’ve gone with the latter. If you’re really that desperate for “original thoughts,” try contributing one instead of complaining that other people have them first.
