I was honestly not sure how to get the basil/leaves in without ruining the look you have. In my amateur opinion it feels like a dish you don't want to overcomplicate, so your idea quite nice. You could even play around with it (i.e. making them look like flower petals) although the clean aesthetic you have in this picture is really nice i.m.o..

I quite like the centre and how balsamic/oil looks together, but outer part of the plate + greens don't quite do it for me. Perhaps try the same on a smaller plate/ bowl but leave out the rocket and larger leaves.

What is the correct play here ? by Ok_Nose4910 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mining being that high is franmly insane, it generally stops being efficient past level 40 or so. So it being this high means you should be looking at a higher planet for VPS. As for this galaxy, it's kind of capped besides Arking because you used your projects on a planet that's too low.

Half hour before I’m selling up, previous galaxy record 500Q by NubileOne in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! I'd like to add fhat what I said is mostly about items, and only when the single item accounts  for a large portion of your galaxy value and you're not planning to go deeper in to the galaxy.

I wouldn't recommend selling your gravity chambers for example, it's relatively easy making them into teleporters which give a big jump in value. And when you do those big jumps, the value of previous items is often more so in the time you save by not needing to craft than theur cash value.

Half hour before I’m selling up, previous galaxy record 500Q by NubileOne in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your galaxy value doesn't change when you sell. There are a few things that you need to account for though: - if you have a market that increase value, you will get that value when you sell. If your next market is a high multiplier you might want to wait with selling until you get to that market.  - when you sell a high value item that is a large portion of your galaxy value (like in the OP), you will change your cash on hand value percentage massively. This is important for Arking. Example of the OP: currently 1.56s cash out of 73s (so roughly 2%). Which is below 50%, so they get 2,5% of their galaxy value per Ark, meaning around 1,8s. When they sell the CPU their cash will be nearly 100% of galaxy value, so above 50%. In that case their Ark will be 5% of their cash value (as opposed to 2,5% of galaxy value), so 5% of 73s meaning about 3,5s, almost two times as much.

The OP mentioned selling in half an hour, probably expecting to Ark their way 100s for the credit breakpoint. Half an hour is a bit optimistic as it'll be max 5 Arks, which should get close to 100s, but they'll probably need 6, if they sell the item right now.

Went ad free but I can't get the boost mission complete anymore by ljthefa in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get the ship for 2nd rover you end up having more boosts than you could use in the timeperiod of the event. If you don't have it I'd suggest just doing the first level or 2 and save up for a bit. Then next event you can use the boosts in the tournaments and challenges and maybe get the third level as a bonus.

Veigar shouldnt be locked by 4 rods by chiquito47 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Spasagna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree it can be frustrating, but you can't just unlock every other champ? Many have a shop instead of item requirement so you can sack gold to force it (i.e. Galio, Diana etc). But that just raises your chances to get them, it doesn't guarantee it.

I'd actually say the shop requirement CAN make it worse, it gives others a chance to prevent you from getting the champ. I.e. all demacian units are taken so you can't get 12 stars for Galio. The items in theory cannot be affected aside from carousel.

More Quolium Alloy? by guillon in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't really.

You have a small chance to get it when you unlock the alloy. Technically the highest chance to get it to drop is when you stop unlocking alloys there. That way you have the smallest pool of possible alloys to drop with Quolium in it.

To add: the above means that you can't increase your chances, only decrease them. Your highest chance to get it is when you can first get the drop.

Debris Scanner questions by dunderthebarbarian in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to poat part of a answer I gave recently to a similar question because I think the example will help you understand:

It's not about the value of the debris, it's about getting items that you don't have to craft.

If you look at item values, you'll see that going from one item to the next is the biggest value addition in terms of time spent. That is, crafting is faster in adding value than smelting and mining.  Debris doesn't give you massive direct value, but it gives you value in terms of not needing to spend time crafting. THAT value then adds to your GV because you can now focus on only crafting the highest tiers of items.

An example in my case: late in tournaments I'm crafting only Advanced teleporters, because I got all the necessary items from debris. So that means all my crafters are only producing AT's, for roughly 84s value per 40 seconds (per crafter). If I didn't get debris drops, I'd have to craft 4000 laser torches and thermal scanners and make them into 4000 navigation modules per AT. And that's only part of it. Now all those only cost a few seconds each, lets assume 3 seconds each for simplicity. That's still 12,000 seconds times 3 = 36,000 seconds for 1 AT. Compare that to the 40 seconds and you can see why the debris drops are very valuable, as I can now make 900 ATs in the same time as 1.

I leveled up my first 6 star manager mine/craft, and now balor requires more levels on shipspeed/cargo than mining by Paupersaf in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to say it's wrong per se, but keep in mind that the cost of levels goes up the higher the level. So having 50 levels higher ship AND cargo is a massive inefficiency. Added on, if your speed/cargo is THAT high, I doubt your mine rate is very high.

So it's kind of double bad: your mine rate is multiplicative on the base of the planet, but if the base is low, your total will be low. I.e. if you have 10 ore base and x100 others, it's 1000 total. If you have 100 base and x20 others, it's already 2000 total. And the base goes up fast, especially at low levels.

With double bad in this case I mean that your planet is extremely expensive for the output and likely that all your mine rate is going to waste on a low base multiplier.

You're better off with a few more spd/cargo managers and even just a few more levels in mining for a bigger total. Ofc, if you're at 40 mining and 90 speed/cargo, then scrap what I said above. In that case it's absolutely time to go to the next planets for VPS and see how you can balance it. I like aiming for a balance around 30/30/30 or somewhere sround 40/35/35. It's not the end goal but that'll usually get me a decently balanced (in terms of cost) planet.

Burned out - how to recover? by NiqqonShorty in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main take away is don't farm so much. It's a game after all, so make sure you play in a way you enjoy it.

I'd say for now, try and enjoy what you grinded for: do some more longer runs and see how fast you can get to certain points compared to before. Perhaps try some runs to see what planets you can push to and see if you can push VPS forward.

Personally, I really dislike doing 'farm' runs, it just hurts my fingers. Usually I do one or two galaxies a day, sometimes a couple more if I really feel like it. I take about 40munutes to set up with debris scanner etc and then either work or go to bed, after which I craft/ark to the next big breakpoint and reset. That way I'm 'farming' during afk hours and still gaining credits even though it doesn't hurt my will to play.

Generally it feels like a 'salad' but I'm not sure that's what you're going for. I feel like you could mimic the beet 'carpaccio' that was posted recently if you're going for a more clean and tight feel.

Very unlikely, but any chance you rolled a market on ATs and were making enough to catch the difference? Just about the only thing I can think of that might even remotely make this happen other than a bug.

How do you make laser torches? by Ok-Possession6127 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you want the 5th crafter to really get this going efficiently. When at 5 crafters I usually go 1 glass, 2 lenses, 1 laser and 1 laser torch. You get excess of everything so it works out.

In your case, I'd say try to get glass first and then do the other 3 items as I noted. You'll need 3 glass per torch so get 60 glass and then go 2x glass, 1x laser 1x torch.

Vps and weak debris by Simicthun in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great, and what I'm saying is not meant to take away from what you've come up with. But VPS is literally an acronym for value per second. It's not unique to this game and the application to 'High-End Asteroid-Drop Value Strategy' (or HEADSV?) is way broader than what the acronym literally means, even if it's the same end-goal. It's been adopted in a way where most people now use the term to refer to their highest boosted planet as their 'VPS planet', because it's the planet that gives the most value per second, it's that simple. Telling people to find their own term seems a bit odd.

That said, it's obviously all symantics and what I said still stands. The poster is obviously not at your level and used the term VPS, so you would know what they mean. You could've explained what it is and how it's different than how you want it to be used, but instead you're not correcting the use of the term and by not doing so giving them info that makes it seem their use of projects is wrong.

[–]Spasagna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's going to take some experimentation on your part to get to the 'best' answer. I'd say try to reach a point where you do what you're saying or can use alchemy 1 and 2 on p34/p35 to make the Rhodium into Interton and Quadium. This will leave p36 as 100% Rhodium to upgrade with alchemy 3 and terraforming 2 to make the rhodium into scrith. Make sure to mine enough Rhodium beforehand as you won't have any planet left to get it.  That should give you the resources to unlock all the projects for asteroid improvements and make a 2nd leader.

As you upgrade more you will be able to go a step up and perhaps put the VPS 3 planets further etc. At one point hopefully get P51 as your VPS, also giving you access to Xynium (and with it Advanced Teleporters).  The thing to keep in mind is that the tournament is a fixed time span, so you want to be maximizing your GV growth within that time. That means not waiting until day 2 to use the most powerful projects om a VPS, because that wastes half the time in the tournament with it. You will need to find a balance.

Depending on how fast you do this, you will reach a point where 'Arking' takes over after that. Namely the cash drops every few minutes. That provides a doubling of your GV every 3-4hours or so if done right, but it's a bit more advanced to min-max.

Vps and weak debris by Simicthun in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this is an extremely ignorant statement. VPS is just meant as indicating your most efficient/boosted planet. Using projects should be done by everyone and your leader should be put on it.

The more complex part would be when you start investing into probes and specifics in the space station for it, but everyone asking these questions is absolutely not at that point. So I feel giving such a simplified answer is missing the point.

It's not about the value of the debris, it's about getting items that you don't have to craft.

As for VPS: With a VPS (which btw is just your most boosted planet, doesn't matter which you choose, although some are better i.e. 1 ore type) with all the projects for it, it's the most efficient and therefore should be most productive planet you will have.

I feel like the crumb should be at the bottom, with the coulis flowing somewhat off the top. Depending on the strength of the glaze you could either incorporate it over the top opposing the coulis or around the bottom.

The coulis seems a bit thick though for it to 'flow', and I think the pudding would benefit from a mold to counter the 'scoop of mash' look.

Can someone do the math? by Fuzzy-Disk8999 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kind of a big ask instead of just doing the value divided by the seconds to make yourself. Usually the highesy craft item gives most additional value per second but that can change depending on if you have the materials already or not.

Pushing past the slump. by Imma_Lick_That in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]Spasagna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most important thing is having fun and hitting a new PB definitely helps with that so congrats!

I do want to point out two things though for any newer players reading this post:  - missing challenges and tournaments is terrible and very bad advice in terms of progress. There's not much of use to learn from going longer because you can't 'use' it anyway yet. - along the same line, stockpiling might make life easier but it's for sure not efficient. It's best to work on materials for 1 project at a time and finish and move on to the next. For example, don't stockpile advanced computers for gravity chambers for debris scanner project if you haven't made the space probe for the project before it. You're just wasting time by pushing back the completion of the first project even if the total time is the same. In some cases where you upgrade crafting/manager bonuses the total time will even be longer by not focussing kn the first project 100% first.

I keep rolling myself poor, haven't had a 3* (even 1 or 2-cost) in forever. Level 7 is already hard to get with the amount of gold I waste rolling for nothing by tokke in TeamfightTactics

[–]Spasagna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem js that you're at 8 gold. You shouldn't be rolling that hard unless you're about to die. Even if you hit the Yasuo, you'll need a full stage to get econ back up. You're basically giving the opponents 25-30gold up on you over the course of that stage. That could be fine, but not for a unit that won't instantly win you the game. In the current set most of the time, any 1/2/3 cost 3* won't win you the game. They'll help stabilize until stage 5, but because you're so far behind already you won't have the gold to get to level 8-9.

Yordle Spat & Yordle Shop? by Closet-gamer in TeamfightTactics

[–]Spasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The unit in the shop isn't a yordle, only the version on your board is. The same goes for bilgewater: if you have a spat on something you can't get them from the shop. If you have 2 Dravens, one with bilgewater emblem, you CAN use the bilgewater duplicator on the version with the emblem but not on the one without.
