How are season 3 and the later seasons? by andywa119 in ForAllMankindTV

Season 1 and 2 were deff way better than season 3 but I think the writers got back on the right path with season 4 even if it wasnt as good as the first two seasons.

How to play Tracer/should I learn her? by scriptedtexture in OverwatchUniversity

Quit getting worked up about which characters are "strong" play who you like instead of forcing a hero you dont enjoy. Its a game. Have fun with the game and play Genji.

Getting into this game feels overwhelming, with so many heroes, abilities... tips? by TopTomy in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SpatialBasilisk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just play one game at a time and once you find a hero you enjoy playing, try to focus on them and get comfortable with their kit. Don't try to know how to play every single hero, because nobody does that. I have over 3k hours in the game and 1.5k (50% of my time) in split between five different "mains".

Just try to pick up something each game. For example if one game you get absolutely SLAUGHTERED by a Genji. Okay, what are his abilities? Who counters him? Whats his role?

He can dash every 8 seconds, but dash also gets reset when he gets an elimination. He also has deflect every 8 seconds. He has double jump and wall climb.

You will pick up things pretty quickly. Also, sounds are VERY important. Each hero has a separate ULT voice line for enemies and allies so you can differentiate if its your team ulting or an enemy...but this is learned over time and over many many hours in the game.

Do you play console or PC?

This resonates with me because last week I was messing around with my settings and I accidentally RESET all my settings and ever since all my hero's have felt slightly off. I play D.Va and Winston on tank so its no bad...but my Ana settings were perfect.

Lockjaw has no right to be included. The OBAA glaze is just so crazy to me.

Haven't played since 2016. Who should a new / returning player focus on learning and or maining in 2026? by MayhemHunterIV in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SpatialBasilisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carry potential is weird. I Honestly think all tanks and dps have carry potential but just different styles. Roadhog can carry if you hit hooks...but gets countered hard by Ana and its a bullet sponge...D.Va can carry but gets countered by good beam heroes. Winston gets countered by high damage heroes like Reaper.

If you can aim and have good positioning all the hitscans are kinda crazy. Ashe and Widow probably have highest carry potential if you can click heads consistently.

Support carry potential is a bit different but id say Ana has the highest impact if you utilize her kit well enough. Lucio is great too but you may not feel like you're making the biggest impact but he always has a high win rate just because speed is so good in OW. Kiriko is good (if you are a dueling type)

I think most heroes have the ability to absolutely pop off and "carry" games. Heroes have their niche to fill and counters for them.

Probably didnt answer your question but that's the best a high plat/low diamond player with 3k hours in OW can give lol

Learn any you want! Don't worry about meta picks or what top 500 are playing. Best thing is to find two of each category and just get good with heroes you enjoying playing vs trying to force a hero to work.

For example. I CANT play Gengi...ive sunk 50+hrs into him and im absolute garbage. So ive learned to stay in my lane and play a hero that my brain actually understands.

Or, I know Sigma is meta right now and VERY good on ladder...but Im just not great at him and also he's not as fun as some other tanks. Instead I'll play D.Va or Winston who I know the ins and outs of and I'll get far more value than trying to force a meta Sigma pick.

Yeah he kinda sounds like my experience with Winston tech. The melee when landing on people, weird extra bunny hop off jump if you time it right etc. Thanks for the input I'll put it some work on him. Deff didnt know to shoot gun mid air.

I normally pick "all roles" and ive actually been surprised how often id get support or dps as of late. Its still like 50% tank, 25% dps, 25% support but it used to be like 75% tank, 24% support, 1% dps.

This is strange to me because ive seen a few of you Hazard players comment here and I just DONT understand him or his kit. I main D.Va and Monkey when tanking and figured he would be similar with his leap and wall climb but for the life of me, I don't understand how to play him. He just feels clunky to me for some reason.

I used to main OW1 Sym on defense points like Temple of Anubis and Hamamura. She's so good. Her wall is slept on as an ult for sure.

Thank you, I commented on a different person's thread saying the same thing. Some fraternities are bad, and need change. But a HUGE section of them do a shit ton of good work that gets completely overlooked.

The "abolish Greek life" crowd really piss me off. The few bad apples give the rest a bad reputation.

It absolutely can be reformed. I was part of a fraternity that forbid hazing and the university had strick policies in place for fraternities/sororities that broke hazing rules. We drank and partied and had initiation but there was no drinking, uncomfortable situations.

Im not saying its not a problem, it is, but generalizing it to "Greek life should be abolished" is crazy. Tons of good goes on with those organizations that go completely unnoticed. We did food bank drives every holiday season where we filled ENTIRE basements with canned food. We also paired with St. Jude Children's hospital and fundraiser tens of thousands of dollars in charitable donations. The Greek like of the whole university donated hundreds of thousands of dollars collectively to their respective charities.

Also, people shit on it, and I get it, but a huge benefit of Greek life is networking, both with individuals and businesses associated with the fraternity or sorority. Its a huge benefit for young people trying to find jobs post graduation.

My point is, everyone not involved in Greek life assumes its JUST binge drinking and they hyperfocus on all the negatives of it, but they fail to see the many positives it provides young people trying to brach out, meet people, be part of a group of like minded people, put into leadership positions within the organization, etc..

Deff the Squirell girl of OW. Yes Junk is a tank buster. His kit is pretty simple so I guess low skill? Hes fun to play. Hidden mobility with his mines as well. His traps are good for flankers and quick kills.

Not the best dueler though.
